Often times it is lower but there is one enemy such that has more attack distance than range. This enemy can be dodge by standing still. Then once they are in range the start their attack animation. This will determine the direction of the infinite hallway. The late check will be done after than checking you are in the box without something in the way without being an invalid target remember ping makes the test happen in the past
