Most fun for me (and at least most in my team): R8E2
Most competitive: depends on what you mean and also what timescale you look at.

• Recently R6A1 solo has had a lot of people running it and WR has changed hands several times.
• Also recently R3D1 had a lot of teams, but the competition wasn't for WR but for sub-11 times for a competition we had here for a special role. Similarly R6C1 had a lot of competitiveness when it was the focus of the speedrunning competition for GTFO streamathon, but interest completely died after that.
• Historically level like R2E1 and R4E1 have had a lot of different teams competing but recently there haven't been as many runs for them.

(semi ignoring common wr changes as that usually only happens for short times):

R1A1 (pre checkpoint): had a super tense solo history where times kept going lower

R3D1 as tru said
R6C1 as tru said
R6D1 in original R6, back then 2 teams were improving the time back and forth with second incriments.

R4E1 could also fit. It has by far the longest semi continious run streak with times improving from mid 40s to now super low 30s

I think the big constraint on a level being competitive by this definition (which is a good definition and I agree with it) is for it to be enjoyable enough for multiple teams to keep playing it even while it gets more and more optimized.

Speedruns in GTFO have a general tendency to become less enjoyable as they become more and more optimized. Fewer seeds become runnable, resets become mandatory for smaller errors, etc.

more or less ya, i dont remember every single reactor in detail, but for most of them you have potential for time save thro alot of ways, by plugging in "1 cycle" (some reactors give you very short time and the intention is that you fight multiple of the same wave, but if your fast you can do it in one wave usually) or getting 2 the next code "early", or even skipping the entire reactor sequence

R7D2 seems wild to me, haven't run it in 4-man speeds, but foam spam into cell highroll (reset) seems incredibly miserable

Why do people use the double tap rifle it's like the worst ammo efficiency weapon in the game the dmr is better in every aspect and a single main damage basically makes it best primary in the game for dmr. I only used it 1 time and absolutely hated it

Hello Hello! I was wondering if anyone has a list of tips / bad habits to avoid for a bunch of new players. I have contracted three of my friends who never played GTFO before to help me 100% the game from beginning to end, and they have done well in R1A1 and R1B1 so far, but they are still a bit...loosey goosey. I have tried to give them tips and tricks I remember from 300 hours of play time back when R3 was released some years ago, but I am unsure what has changed in the many years since. Any list / tips would be great for them and myself!!

Get them comfortable with stealth meleeing scouts, I find that's something a lot of new players struggle with.
