a reactor is ultimately 3 parts,
1 Wave Defense
2 gathering resources in between
3 getting the code into the terminal in time
If you already know how R1C1's reactor works, then its just the first two things you need, and they can go hand in hand

the most popular place to defend for many reasons is the bridge tile. the hole in the wall at the south end is a great choke point where you can get angles and focus your sentries, the bridge itself is a perfect funnel if/as you fall back, and its only about a 30 second run to the reactor terminal.

when you start looting after the shooting, you have quite a lot of resources around you to spend as the code person runs out and runs back. and on longer warm up times for the later codes, you have enough time to run forward and loot in previous areas.

when giants spawn having someone with a good weapon for bigs like hel rifle is useful (especially for hybrids) as well as saving tool by only having 2 sentries down for most waves, saving it for later waves or the waves with Hybrids (4, 6, 8).

this is definitely a 3 sentry + 1 bio tracker level, and when you learn all sentries are not created equal.
Burst is the best all-arounder.
Sniper sentry thrives with bio tracking and the long sight lines on this level.
shot gun sentry is in the game
Autosentry is in the game.

if you have a bot, they are a boss with the biotracker so give them that, and if you have three bots god go with you.

• Level 3 "The Breach"
  This level broke me. I normally do not use over powered weapons/items offered to me just because they are there. What is the point of a challenge if you take the challenge out of it? I later came to the realization that this level was not a challenge for anyone of sane and sound mind to attempt. So lets get started with this missions briefing. Get in, get a thing from an HSU and get out. Easy right? WRONG!

Lets start with what I found to be the biggest flaw with the level its self. There are 5 zones and only 2 terminals.... I checked the listing for the terminals. There are 2. 2! With 5 ZONES! This problem becomes even more apparent when you get to Zone 1002 which has an absolutely massive room with at least 3 different floors to it. I normally don't complain about level design but I don't know what they were thinking with this one. The first zone (Z1000) has those just awful rather lengthy ladders that you need to go back up later when you are running for your life. Trying to climb ladders while waves of enemies are trying to kill you just make for a very VERY frustrating experience. Then you have the second zone (Z1001) Which has one tiny oval shaped room with a wall in the middle so you can do laps like your in NASCAR which you WILL be doing when it comes to the Class 3 alarm in that room to progress and one LARGE room which usually has the scout spawn in it. Then we come to the last zone I had a problem with (Z1002). A zone with a room so large that you can have multiple scouts in but only be able to hear 1 at a time because one decided to up upstairs and the other is in the dam basement. The last 2 zones were alright.

Now for the Alarm doors and Blood Door. For the Love of God why am I combating waves of 20+ guys with big guys sprinkled in as a solo unit. That first alarm door in that tiny room is nearly impossible to defend with just yourself and a turret. That is not even mentioning the scans. Why? WHY!? AM I DOING 4 NORMAL... SLOW... SCANS... FOR ALL 3 SCAN WAVES IN THAT TINY ROOM!? Most of my runs would end there. The on occasion times I managed to get past that I was only met with more sorrow and anguish when it came to the final alarm door. An Alarmed Class 4 Blood Door. Walking into that room and hearing them beat on the other side of that door knowing full well that my objective was on the other side and then seeing that Class 4 alarm for the first time I knew that my run was completely and utterly done with very little hope of salvaging it. Without using the overpowered weapons I was only ever able to complete that class 4 alarm 1 time in 2 days of trying. I remember thinking "This is the run. I am gonna beat this thing." I had about 10%-20% left in my turret, 1 gun with about 20% ammo left and about 45% health. Let me tell you that pitiful amount of ammo and heath remaining was no where even close to enough. The door opens, I unload into that door and shred them. Then I run out. The turrets unloads into them then shortly runs out. They keep coming. They flood out of the door like that elevator scene from The Shining. Still they come. I do the only thing I can do with no ammo. I run like a female dog. I loop around through a few of the rooms in a last ditch effort get into the newly opened zone and acquire ammo. The run is ended as I am unable to find ammo and deal with the 30+ guys chasing me down. I put it down for the evening as I had made quite a few attempts that day.
