what is this game i never played
four humans turned into essentially biological slave robots (KSOs) sent down into a New York sized underground city that caused an apocalypse that destroyed the world and killed basically all life on earth. The entity that sent us down into the underground city (Garganta), is an ancient alien (the Warden) that took over the city's communications network (biocom). As we play the game, the motives of the Warden are mostly unknown, but later rundowns dive deeply into the Warden and its species (the Collectors), and their study and research into multiverse travel.

KSOs are biologically enhanced. as i'm sure you know, you can equip "boosters" in-game to ehance your physical and psychological capabilities, but even beyond that, KSOs are stronger and more physically capable than your average individual. This is due in part to the chemicals they are constantly pumped with during stays in Hydrostasis between missions.
(on the topic of boosters) **I have authorized several new PRDM booster mods to be given MUTED
classification. This brings the total numbe$ppw%]]. These have proven
themselves to offer substantial benefits to the operatives with no
known costs. I’ve marked 6 Genesis operatives as test #%$^ so we can
study any long term usage issues, the rest will be sent to the field
as instructed. Therev^rw$$[...but I can approve muted boosters for
field use.
With regards to the prototypes, the attached document lists every mod
classified as Schedule X (which we are labelling as BOLD for
administration purposes). These do offer increased performance over
muted, but I cannot vouch for_93f#*&7re[ unreliable and won't activate
unless the conditions are just right. They should be fine if you have
a specific need, but understand that the operative will need to keep
in mind the requirements needed for the serum to take effect. Work
continues.
There is also a growing list of AGGRESSIVE boosters
(rejecteJ($#J(&FD We really have no use for these as they are not
cost efficient. While the performance benefits are extraordinary, they
are ultimately dangerous and frankly, toxic. I have sent a batch to

basically, OGr7 schaeffer finally disables the OG worldline's warden over the span between r7d2 and r7e1.
so in the OG worldline, only schaeffer and henrikkson have control over us.
in alt//, schaeffer didn't begin his "war" with the warden in r6 (also why alt//r7 isn't a thing)
so in r8, when the worldlines merge, OG is still under the control of schaeffer and not the alt// warden.
so this gets into how we are controlled by the biocom network, and therefor the warden or schaeffer.

our objective stacks are and basically all of our intel is sent to us via a neural interface, a chip in the back of our necks.

Isn't the entire thing about R7E1 that you reboot the reactor to let the trojan take effect? R7D2 was simply uploading the trojan, but it's then realised that a reactor reboot is required to allow it to fully work
which didn't fully work, schaeffer and warden just both shared control over us, which is why we do r7e1 to restart a reactor and finalize the changes.

"What happened to the wardens of the numerous other worldlines that were merged?" is what I would ask if I didn't assume that because the warden already has knowledge about multiple worldlines that it can figure out what's going on and assimilate/form a network to work with the other wardens

the collectors were more than capable of multiversal travel, it's just never covered in the game if wardens communicate between eachother.

personally, it is in my opinion this is the reason why alt// warden decided to play nice with schaeffer, after OG warden died to him

...We have reached Garganta and have established a base camp on what used to be the sea floor. It's... disconcerting, knowing that the only thing holding back the entire ocean are these concrete walls. It feels like they might cave in at any moment. The entrance to the mine is drill hole into the bedrock. I'm guessing it's about 100 feet across. Looking into the hole is... unnerving, but impressive. None of us are excited about having to go down there. There's a smell coming up from that bottomless black pit. We know what it is, but we're not talking about it. There are 3 freight elevators around the perimeter of the opening. There's also several satellite buildings under the shadow of the sea walls: a triage center, a few military huts and a barracks, security checkpoints around each elevator, an area that looks like holding or containment cells, and storage depots. There's no people here. No bodies, nothing. If they evacuated the facility they left a lot behind - including a fueled Chinook. Captain Puente has stayed up at sea level. He said the men won't come down here. I don't blame them...

both are fine but the later are harder to maintain

u can always rush front for the start of the wave- specially if u have a hel shotgun or something- and if u feel overwhelmed run back
utilize the passage ways give you time to aim and shoot. Therefore, easier to manage resources and help with the code
What special weapons should the entry team bring? sniper or stggter?
depends on your level of skills. My personal recommendations are hel weapons (hel guns, hel rifle) for 1 person, and the other guy can take machine gun or other stuff
sniper is always a no go usually
snipers just pretty much bad always and interchangeable for a better option
but yeah apart from that the usual meta is fine
for main weapons: hel revolver and hel autopistols are my best

rundowns 6-8 are a lot more defined than the earlier ones

My biggest issue with GTFO is spawncap. I think spawncap is way too low, and the game is designed around having to play around the spawncap.
I think it just completely defies common sense when killing enemies doesn't actually help you because they'll just respawn, so you have to kite the enemies around or block their path and take advantage of the fact that the spawncap is so low it can only have like 1 full wave at a time.
Or in reactors you have to kill the enemies as fast as possible because otherwise they'll be locked by spawncap and the wave will take too long.
It makes no sense to me and it would have been so easy to just not make the game revolve around a completely immersion breaking spawncap mechanic

No, the solution is you change how surge alarms work. Instead of instantly filling the spawncap they'd just spawn more enemies faster than other alarms

I don't think an alarm designed around the concept of "killing enemies does nothing" is good game design though.
Surge alarms turn the game into a farce because you are just kiting them around until you can get on the scan while actively avoiding shooting enemies until you are at the scan
Kiting is never needed in any way in this game unless stuff goes to shit.
If there was no spawn cap the same would apply to reactors, just for a different reason (stuff would just overwhelm you if you didnt kill fast enough). The bigger issue here is the combo of enemies spawning far away and then new stuff being spawn capped tho ye
As others have said, increasing the spawn cap fucks with the game hard. A simple example is to go into r1c2 and fully aggro the 2nd zone in the level while running to the charger alarm. Its lag fest galore

Hey, hopfully this is the right chat. My firend and I downloaded a few mods through thunderstore and it was working fine for 2 days, then last night we tried to run the same setup and both kept getting this error "[Error : Unity] GameDataBlockBase, trying to save GameData.GearMeleeHandlePartDataBlock withtout being setup, make sure your gamedata is added to the Setup-list in GameDataManager!". Additionally, we couldnt join/ see each other host, and when we joined through steam, we got the infinite cage drop issue. any suggestions? weve reinstalled the game and the mods already.

The only surge i can think of where you generally sometimes avoid killing is r2e1 1st and 2nd surge

In r2e1 I've been doing the first surge with 2 and 3 players and the scan often goes through where the enemies are coming from, and if we try to push through, all that happens is we run out of ammo and die.
We have to run around the other way, making the enemies follow us and then we get to the scan without much resistance. That's kiting

I mean, spawncap is constantly relevant. If you kill enemies early with sentries you get rewarded with more enemies, but if you can just permafoam a door you get a total of 25 enemies. But especially reactors suck in how if you're in the wrong spot, enemies will get stuck and take long to get to you and you barely get any spawns and run out of time

The ONLY thing that I'd change about how waves work are: 1- Fix the ones that spawn in front during error, that's just bad. 2- Make reactor waves ALWAYS spawn from prefixed rooms no matter what, it ain't like people resist in different places a lot anyway since that fucks the waves up.

But yeah, r1c1 is super hard when you are new and kinda suck, and you hold in reactor because you think that enemies spawning far away is good and if you go towards where the enemies are coming from, they'll spawn closer to you, possibly on top of you.
The game mechanics are really unintuitive. Moment you discove the bridge and realise enemies can't spawn behind you, mission is easy

I've questioned that a bit and after having played R1C1 a good deal with newbies I think I know why.
i love beginners who swap to mines/foam and 2 shotgun sentries

As someone whose newbie group got stuck on the level, "just shoot stuff" doesn't work. They'd just break through into the reactor room at some point and we'd die from the enemies spreading out and coming from all directions. Newbies aren't veterans who can deal with difficult situations.
Move resources doesn't work because by the time the enemies were dead there was little time to go move any resources, either because we didn't kill them well enough, or because they got stuck on the way to reactor, because reactor hold sucks

The MAIN issue is that they all resist on reactor room, which I've seen them do successfully like twice. Then the other issue is not taking the right equipment, third is aim, some people really either dont shoot or miss a lot.
If they spread in reactor room they can come from different directions
In the reactor. It's a big circle. If they breach the door, they'll run through people, and spread out across the walls of the room
Usually either a vet telling them what to do joins or they ask here and eventually get it. Or they watch a guide.
