Not 100% certain, but I don't think there are any overarching technical issues as to why the potato isn't in more levels. More likely that there aren't many opportunities to add it based on rules we have of what enemies can show up where, combined with wanting the enemy to fit a certain role. Then of course it gets stuck from time to time, all probably leading to it not being used as often.

R2 is pretty bad for infection as thats when it was introduced, but in terms of the others...

R4 and R5 await you eagerly

R3 should be a chill one, its pretty generic...
It will start getting bad in R4, will get extra bad in R5, then relax in R6, then start picking up again in R7 and then R8 is 50/50, where it gets extra bad in second half.
Most of that is thanks to the fact that from R4 and onwards some levels will have additional optional objectives that often tend to curse the rest of the expedition. You don't get any additional rewards for beating them though, so if you don't care for that - you can just gun straight for Main Objective and that will make many levels far more tolerable.
Prisoner Efficiency in particular is the stuff of nightmares 9 cases out of 10.

@alpine scaffold You can either unlock Overload, then use the cell in Main to deal with basically all of overload+error as for example in Fireblade's video, OR you can use the last cell of Main to do Overload's alarm instead. You trade no error for more fog.

You do have a point but the main issue is in the games popularity and commitment to the game itself by 10c. Making a new game would be even if not more tedious then a few big updates. Sure it would be optimal to make a new game but I doubt they would pour that much time and money into it. GTFO isn’t an underground game by any means but it’s not exactly popping enough to warrant a new game. And even if they made a new game the issues of the first have to be addressed at some point

GTFO 2 should be not be a copy paste of GTFO. I really feel it should be a whole new game, obviously being derived from the 1st, but i also feel that it could be improved upon in so many ways. Remeber when this game was supposed to be scary? To a certain degree it still is but only when you there is something dangerous to ruin your run. Not scary based off enemy design, if anything thats something I hope the 2end game would improve upon is making the designs horrifying. Sure they are good now, but seeing tentacles emerge from a head with no deformation is kinda weird, I just think designs overall could get a rework.

every single horror game ever made, every single one, loses its horror by just playin it, no matter how scary and awful it is; think of silent hill manhunt resident evil i guess whatever, they all lose its scare factor and gtfo above being horror its a tense game, way way above it
gtfo 2 should not be a copypaste i agree, but then by extension it shouldnt have scouts or other instantly classic enemies like chatgers or shadows, it shold expand upon those concepts offering way newer fresher enemies that challenge u in different ways

You do get health in those zones so if everyone is at 20% there's enough to have some buffer, it's quite helpful for the second surge due to hybrids

just some advice!
always ask to not be carried, make sure that everyone joinin ur lobby joins ur voice channel
and if you havent be sure to do the tutorial first [on the top left] and start on rundown 1 since its the simplest one

i think r6 has a more steep difficulty curve [r1 gets hard on c1 but a lil advice and u can get it, r6c1 has the 5 scout room the error the tps etc etc]
plus r1 its the basics, if they just play r6 and then go back they might wonder wheres all the cool shit like tps or checkpoints

carbine has super low recoil and its strong as a main, on specials thoit depends way more on like what u wanna do, wave clear big dmg range etc etc

I would def try to experiment with all guns and practice with others because ur def wanna get used to the recoil ast some point. But like Degu said, Semi automatics are really good for that category ur looking for

also for other tip on sneaks, when an enemy is glowin they detect much further away if u kill another one, so make sure no ones glowin while u tryin to kill a packed room
