There is host migration @keen elbow regardless if there is a checkpoint or not. The game tried to pick a new host with best connection and uses the most recent memory snapshot it has (though sometimes that doesn't work) but usually it does.

Pump action is pretty strong too, and far easier to use too for efficiency. Just gotta sacrifice range.
