some players do the same things and never attempt to improve and spend hundreds of hours hardstuck in pubs

other players decide to directly address their skill issue, learn the game, learn to shoot, etc., and experience massive improvement

imo a key to going the second route is to solo some early levels

(without bots, since the proviso needs to be added)

various a1's, r1b1, r3a2, r4a2, r5a2, r7b1, and a few others can be reasonably approached solo by someone who's fairly new

you learn to hold waves, maximize tools, drive a mission forward yourself, etc

I can't comment on the rainbow six comparison

wrt the fog, it's a hazard or obstacle which is part of level design in this game

you're rarely if ever expected to "git gud" and somehow play as though being nearly blind doesn't hinder you somehow

rather you're expected to plan around it, use turbines/repellers, use biotracker, and generally try to plan to avoid needing to fight in the fog

you mentioned r7c1, you're expected to do the optional progression task where you crack open the zone full of scouts and bigs, find the terminal in there, and use it to lower the fog, after which the fog is low enough to never really be in your way

I still dont understand Enemy Pathing in general, why do I closed a door in R2C2 would cause the Enemy to go through open door that is further away than hitting the door in front of me
