None that I know of. I usually plan out an area of currently clear ground to click and adjust as needed once i can see the incoming shadow start.

But as long as you move 1 tile away from where you were previously (just as they spawn) you will always have 2 ticks to move the 1 required tick to a safe tile.

I personally just keep moving to the west along the south wall, since your making him car that way anyways. Plus youll be on the west side of doom for grub phase when it procs
I will say that ive found difficulties with clearing acid using that sidewalk tech.
Its great for initially learning wave 8 clear, but will be transitioning to kirbys method for better acid clearing to start delving further
