Greetings! I'm a humble, one-man project of a TTRPG and a world building stuff, but I won't bore anyone with the details.
I'm HORRIBLE if it comes to editing wikis and coding in CSS/JS and whatnot - so I would appriciate all help coming my way.
My wiki is the Trouble in Heartbeaten Paradise wiki: https://tihp.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page and I am currently having issues with setting up templates.
https://tihp.miraheze.org/wiki/Template:Character
https://tihp.miraheze.org/wiki/Template:Country
https://tihp.miraheze.org/wiki/Template:Faction
https://tihp.miraheze.org/wiki/Template:Infobox
Something slick and easier to use would be way more appriciated, of course, with any tips and whatnot. Reading code is not my specialty, I am afraid!
I am open to any critique and/or edits, as long as they are informed to me beforehand.

The short term goals are:

  • fixing the templates
  • making said templates easier to use in the future
  • writing, but that's my dolly

Long term goals are:

  • introducing a proper main page
  • editing the visual style
  • introduce categories
  • introduce other media (songs, .pdf files for fanmade stories, etc.)

I recall the person who made these was an editor over at the SIGNALIS Fandom wiki
They deleted their account on Discord so I have legit zero way of contacting them anymore lol

Every time I try to change the infobox or try to apply it to a different template it just, borks. It throws a syntax error about "unproper closing" or it rebells and it doesn't have information from the other templates.

#

I see people porting over templates from Wikipedia in one way or another and I have zero clue how they do it

#

it's just
I am not sure how the infobox correlates with the templates and how to edit the templates afterwards
The Country one is where I ran into trouble

Okay, I did listen, I am using Fandom's infoboxes now

#

I am just now unsure on how to edit the template itself. Both in source code and on visual editor it appears blank if it comes to inputting data in.

Is there a tutorial on making categories?

limber nacelle
#

make a page like Category:categoryname and then at the bottom of any page put [[Category:categoryname]] to add the page to the category

roger that, thank you!

Also, is there a way to make a table stay on the middle of the page?
