@harsh kelp try reboot your computer, make sure you are logging in on the same wiki you set it up
ill try it but i dont know if it would work
best option would be to disable 2 factor which is what i was trying to do
lemme restart first
didnt work
Unless it was very recently activated or you have strong proof, we rarely reset 2FA
well wait i am logged in on my laptop
what proof is needed?
@dreamy notch
here, i did activate after a previous incident
Basically something that has the same standard as 2FA
Key based stuff
Unless you activated it like half an hour ago
i actived it a few months ago after a incident where i was logged out due to this
i re actived it
Ye you're pretty much on your own unfortunately
We very rarely reset 2FA
Being logged in is not proof
ok wait
give me examples of this
GPG/SSH keys, committed identities, another linked account connected by 2FA, someone has met you in real life
ok, so what abt the identities part? or what would count as another linked account?
i have a friend who works on the wiki
if that helps in any way
If you don't know what a committed identity is, you don't have one
A linked account would be a legitimate alternate account that is secured to the same standard
Not a friend
Unless that friend is a steward
ok, does it have to be mirahaze though?
i have accounts that have 2 factor
my discord account does
A Miraheze controlled system would be fine such as Phorge
External things like discord don't count
would it count if i logged into phorage?
If you have 2FA for Phorge setup before today
And I can verify it
Any decision to remove 2FA is case by case
And it can take a while
i never used phorage, but i dont know what info i could give you about my account on mirahaze that would prove i am who i am
wait no, hold on
ok
so heres my issue
on my main pc, i am using 2 factor authentication, but for some reason its saying it failed, like this
so its not mirahaze
atleast i think
sorry, just i get anxious when this stuff happens, hope this clears it up
on what my issue is
ok, ik that
Its organisational policy to set a very high standard for unlocking accounts
ok
i belive my issue is due to windows
and not mirahaze
now that ik that
sorry if i confused you
what could i look into to see what is interfearing with the 2factor?
ok
i think its a windows issue
so imma look into that
bai for now
also ask the tech team if an incident like this happened before and it was my issue, just to make sure
if ya can
I am the tech team
ik
Also the person who is pretty much authoritative on 2FA resets
I know pretty much every case of 2FA resets for most of our existence
ok but has it ever been a issue where you cant login due to 2 factor?
i will contact microsoft support and see what the issue is, ill update you if its mirahaze
I am not aware of any other reports of that error
aight i was able to contact them there looking into it rn
