I want to give a user/friend access to edit my private wiki but he or I don't know how.

They must have an account linked to your wiki after which you can grant groups in Special:UserRights

How can I grant groups there?

you enter their user, load their groups -> check boxes -> save user groups

It just loads me "There is no user by the name "___". Check your spelling."
