#Transfer a Fandom wiki over to Miraheze.

Yup, we can help you export pages + images and import them for you
[[Moving a wiki to Miraheze]]
Hmm
There
@fluid lodge
Although that reads a bit waffly, there's a bot in here that can be used to generate the image + xml exports from fandom
And you can request for us to import it for you
I would like that. I have one called FMH: Fantasy Media Hub. It only has 35 pages but does have a good number of images on there.
This is a wiki community of fictional local and national television and radio stations and networks, and fictional cable/satellite providers created by broadcasting nerds/enthusiasts. We're a...
@zenith flare Question... does the transfer include all templates made on Fandom?
Are images needed
Yes @hidden tusk

moving off fandom
Well that was fast
I think I did... on here.
Did I? I'm confused.
You need to go to [[Special:RequestWiki]]
Did so just now. @zenith flare
Let me know when someone approves it and we'll arrange the import
It was approved by experimental AI. @zenith flare
It’s in recommend only mode for now
#announcements message
I believe that part is only new so I'm okay with being patient.
Approved it just now.
Yeah I got an email saying it was approved.
Cool. I see the wiki created but I'm waiting for the imports to go through.
It will take a few hours, as RhinosF1 is sound asleep atm. (UTC time)
Understandable.
I have no idea why this was waiting on me
I can make the task though
@fluid lodge I've raised https://issue-tracker.miraheze.org/T13144

Awesome cool!
Do I have to do something from this point onward now @zenith flare?
Not yet. Please follow the link above to T13144
You can see the status and comments made.
Almost there I guess. 🙂
@fluid lodge this is
I just saw it. I thought templates and images were transferred.
I don't see them there.
@zenith flare ⬆️ Could you check?
Images should have transferred as well as all pages
Page counts match
There is a difference in 3 files from fandom, you might have to work out which they are
But pages look fine
Some of the images are being slow to load but they are there
Not the templates though. They don't look right at the moment.
@fluid lodge they have been imported
I suspect it's cache problems
Do you have an example page where a template is broken?
I'm on my laptop now. Images still taking a while.
Not all templates were imported.

Okay. I just did. What do I do from here?
They should become active instantly
I did enable those portable infoboxes. Still not showing up the way they're supposed to.
I added <onlyinclude> tags around the infobox template to fix it. No idea why it works, but I had a similar issue on another wiki with an infobox that broke after the update to mediawiki 1.43
I just did. The templates all show up now, thankfully.
Nice!
However, the images are still a problem.
Like for example, the main image you see on the Fandom main page didn't show up and the images are still not showing up.
Please change [[File:Site-community-image|center|1000px]]
You forgot the .png or .jpg in the file name 😉
@fluid lodge ⬆️
Oh I'm sorry. My bad. Just checked Fandom and it came like that.
EDIT: Well, others images are still not showing up.
Scratch that out. Now they're showing up and it looks great! I guess I gotta adjust the templates just a tad bit but otherwise, looking great! Thanks y'all.
I've always preferred this option over Fandom but I wasn't aware of it at the time I originally created FMH but considering Miraheze has wikipedia looks that Fandom does not, that's why I wanted it transfered over. I may have another one in mind to transfer in the future but I'm not there just yet.
Well you know how to find us 😉
Glad it worked out.
@fluid lodge images are fixed
They should have been working since about 2.5 hours ago
There was an issue with swift
I was in a work meeting so couldn't pass on the fixed message
It was solved. He had forgotten the .png in the file 😉
No it wasn't
That was not the issue affecting most of their files
It was solved by fixing the fact that some of the swift setup didn't create properly
He even said other images weren't showing up originally (before crossing it out cause it got fixed)
It was transferred like that, despite the image showing up on Fandom. That's why I was like... huh?
Even as of now, the image on the main page still hasn't shown up.
I suspect that was one of the 3 files that didn't transfer
All files other than 3 from Fandom should be fine @fluid lodge @dense wadi
You will need to find out which 3 didn't transfer by comparing Special:ListFiles
https://fantasymediahub.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:WantedFiles only includes the one
So possible the other 2 weren't used
