#Wikidata property codes instead of data showing up in infobox template

Hello. I've recently imported the rocket infobox template to my wiki. This template seems to be doing something I don't think I've ever seen before which is displaying the wikidata property codes for concepts instead of their names for some reason? For example instead of "Thrust" it displays "P2228" which is indeed the wikidata code for that. Two related things I've found browsing through this wiki's support section was the suggestion to install the UnlinkedWikibase extension which I don't really need for my wiki and i'm not sure it would even fix it or alternatively to rewrite the templates entirely (which would be a lot of work). Are there any simple solutions to this I'm missing? Thank you.

@glad terrace is the most qualified volunteer to answer this I guess.

UnlinkedWikibase does something entirely different from Wikibase currently, and is not a drop-in replacement

The first question I have is: do you actually need Wikidata on your wiki?

It's a worldbuilding/RP repository wiki

From what I've seen the vast majority of infoboxes don't imvoke wikidata, it's something i don't remember seeing before

#

The rocket infobox one does however do that

#

I'm not even sure I understand why

I recommend that you read [[Infoboxes]]. We have a general recommendation not to import templates from Wikipedia, because they cause problems like this.

Generally it ends up being easier to rewrite in a different format than just importing, as strange as it sounds, because Wikipedia has a very complex layer of dependencies.

Or you could copy older versions of said Infobox (Look at history, and go back to somewhere around 2009. They are simpler versions, and easier to maintain/customise.
