I had changed an image in a template and the image on the page, the infobox only changed dimensions and stretched the original image. The image updates once you open it in media viewer.

It seems that you changed File:File:Trench-official-art.png to File:File:Trench-official-art(old).png and then reverted the change a minute later. Can you tell us what you were trying to accomplish?

Usually, when an image doesn't update, you can wait for a bit because cachign problems are quite common.

well a new image of the same thing was updated, but the author told me to keep the old one as a file of the sane name with (old)

so instead of updating and uploading the old one again. Or just uploading and changing the file name in each template.

I moved the old one and replaced the old file with a new one

altho now that I tested it this si definitly the issue. since any other image works.
