I'm planning to compile the background information I create for an upcoming novel in wikipedia article form. The plot centers on the political intrigue of a global empire established sometime in the 1930's/40's by a Captain America/Homelander expy.

To further the clear in-world narrative status of the wiki, rather than it being an OOC compilation of character and setting lore, I'd like to name it Omnipedia, and to feature the appropriate sitename of "Omnipedia – the world encyclopedia", though the universe I'm creating is currently named "The 'Hegemon' Universe".

Omnipedia – the world encyclopedia

Given the time I've already waited for the request to be considered, I'd appreciate a quick review on here of my reasons for wanting this sitename and URL, and whether I can expect it to be allowed or not. Thanks for the consideration.

@meager gull hey, could I ask you to check the comment I left on the page request?

I'm still not fully sure I get where the "omnipedia" part comes from

To me it sounds like an atempt to create "Omnipedia – the world encyclopedia" where one creates a universe with a Wikipedia Copy with a twist. Trying to fork Wikipedia under false pretence?

The ASOIAF Wiki page for the Seven Kingdoms probably reads something like "The Seven Kingdoms is the official name of the monarchy of Westeros [etc.]", followed by a variety of lore, and subsections with plot points from each book

#

This is fundamentally different from if, say, GRRM created a The Citadel website, with lore from the books written about from the POV of people in the world itself

#

in practice, he does this with his 'A World of Ice and Fire' book, which is descriptive and from the point of view of several Maesters, and with 'Fire and Blood', which is from the POV of several characters writing their own chronologies of the events of the Dance of Dragons, with the interplay between different interpretations of facts and author bias being part of what makes the book so rich.

#

What I'm hoping to do with this wiki is what 'A World of Ice and Fire' does for GRRM's universe, but set in my own. It will be readily apparent that the wiki is not describing our reality. I have no religious or ideological leaning of my own to impart on the wiki, just a narrative aspiration

For reference, I literally intend to add fake navbars to the top of each article imitating a browser in this universe

with the text added via a template
