#Missing images

Images work on my machine. Might be a region-specific issue? (I think there was an incident where east Asian users couldn't see images)
Hmm. Understood. I'll keep an eye on it then. Thank you.
@late moth please use the cloudflare issues form in #minor-announcements if this is still a problem
Will do. Thanks.
Just to rule out local caching issues, can you check if you can successfully load images if you try a different browser (or a particular browser's incognito mode)?
I've tested this in my Edge and Brave browsers, and there are no images, but it works when I'm in Chrome.
Ah, yep, then it sounds like it might be a local cache problem, may be worth trying a clear of your browser's cache.
Understood. I'll give it a quick test. Thanks!
Cleared the cache for both browsers and closed them and did refreshes, but nothing is working.
Might it take some time or should it have had an immediate effect?
Just to make sure a step isn't missed, you did select 'all time' and 'cached images and files' correct?
Should have a more or less immediate effect if that's the issue.
Yeah, but I'll do it again and make sure.
Another thing to try to forcibly rebuild page cache locally is Ctrl+Shift+R, very odd that one browser works and the other doesn't.
Yeah, still isn't working for me. Let me look around a bit and give it some time. Wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened.
Okay, so it is a universal issue for me. It isn't working in Chrome either.
You got a managed challenge so we'll be able to look into it
The form will go to us so we can see why you're blocked and see if we can help
Clearing browser cookies if anything made this worse
Once you get a challenge and pass it, you're exempt from another one in most cases for a bit
So it will be fine on that browser
Until you clear cookies
If you see a message asking if you're a bot and it's breaking other stuff or you get a cloudflare block page, please flag it using the form to SRE.
Clearing cookies won't help

Got it.
Do I still need to fill out that CloudFlare form or do you have what you need on your end?
Thanks for the heads up, noted.
I submitted the form. Didn't have an error code, but I did have the Ray ID for the Cloudflare response I got.
Thanks again for your help.
Your form has been received. I'll take a look later today.
@late moth I'm surprised you're seeing a captcha. Can I also ask what ISP you use?
Xfinity.
Okay
I need to check the logs better
Because this is an ASN challenge
So that shouldn't be happening
@hallow blaze I did a quick test, running my computer on a hotspot and the images all came up. I tested it over ethernet and they started to disappear in places.
I'm pretty sure it's an ISP issue. Had my brother check on his computer and he got the same thing as well.
The same thing happened for my phone. Tested it with the house wifi and the images weren't appearing, but when I ran it on my data then they reappeared.
Ye it is an ISP issue
Mainly that were challenging all traffic
Do you have a custom domain?
Cause basically once you see a captcha once, you shouldn't see it again for quite a while
So I'm not sure why you don't see a captcha when loading the wiki and then the images should be fine
I do have a custom domain, but I'm not being challenged for captcha there. It's on the separate Miraheze one that I get captchas for.
Omniversalis (custom domain) has no captchas but has missing images, while the Xyon (Miraheze) wiki has captchas but no issues with the images.
That makes more sense
For now, right click one of the images, open in new tab, once you pass the challenge, do ctrl+f5
That should allow the rest to load
I think @late moth
We really need to move custom domains to cf
Cool. I'll give it a shot later today when I'm back in front of my computer and let you know what happens.
Just gave it a shot and it didn't work. I'm going to give my ISP a call and see what's going on.
Right now, it's everyone on my family wifi who can't see the images, so I'm 99.99% sure the ISP did something stupid on their end.
Nothing calling your isp will do about it
It's not on their end
It's our end but it's a problem with your isp
Understood. Thank you again as always.
