Hello everyone
This is kind of a weird request.
I was hoping to get some feedback on my Wiki, is it comprehensible, good looking, secure, accessible... If not what I can do to enhance it. Any constructive criticism is welcome!

#Overall feedback on my Wiki

Immediately, that main page is not mobile friendly.
it takes some considerable amount of time to load but it can be because of Miraheze's usual load hiccups so idk
and you hide tool bar ...
mobile mode doesn't help, it's not formatted at all
I advice to use Cosmos w/ such layout - because I don't see the point in barely populated left side bar + while custom right "sidebar" on main page doesn't sit well
if you don't prioritize mobile look I suggest to disable MobileFrontend, unformatted mobile mode is worse than desktop at this point
Cosmos skin, on other hand, is mobile adaptive
Yeah mobile as not been a big worry of mine (honestly think a huge majory of wiki are unreadable on it) so Ill just follow your recommendation and disable mobilefrontend
Ignoring mobile look, what else can you recommend?
use Vector 2022
you removed toolbar, which I consider a bad move, and other links - making the side bar useless, basically
in Vector 2022 it can be hidden/shown by button, giving more space to content area
Dont they appear on hover?
it's funny seeing the "Tools" header and nothing under it lol
this blank black space is simply distracting against plain white content area
How so?
Vector 2022 would be better in your case, really
visually/aesthetically
a distraction
high contrast
the site layout should be balanced
I could switch to it but Id have to fix alot of stuff, but I will if that makes future changes easier
either taking entire width or simply in the center like old web sites, Timeless skin
Vector 2022 mostly relies on Vector.css
only few tweaks need to be added in Vector-2022.css
also, it seems like tables in articles are too limited in width?
some of them could take entire width of the page and show their content in much better way
and thus taking less height on the page
I agree, is there a way to set a max width tho or smth? Sometimes making them take the full width makes them look ridiculous on larger screens
there are @media queries for css
you can define width percentage for classes depending on screen size

Sorry for the ping, but can I keep the modifications somewhere for the old look too? I case someone changes that in their preference
No, if someone wants to use the old vector, can I keep the changes I did for it and apply it for that person
Like is there a Vector-2010.css
Two questions btw
Can I make dark mode the default for any visitor/unlogged people
And whats the extension that allows brackets for modile only content or hidden for mobile content, I know I installed it but I forgor which on it is
there's just Vector.css, I already said that Vector 2022 uses it too, there's few elements to modify in Vector-2022.css
dark modde extension is broken tbh, and lacks such function, can't say much about it
I don't get the third one
There was an extension I installed that allowed stuff to be hidden/showed depending on if you were on Mobile or not using </watev> or smth like that but I can't remember the name/find it
MobileFrontend makes article sections collapsed by default on mobile, that's max what I know
the problem is setting a skin for it which won't turn your wiki into a mess + additional css
I see
Is there really no way to prevent some stuff from showing up if on mobile?
Also is the space on the right of the page on purpose with vector 2022? Can I put stuff in it?
oh wait I know
That was actually MobileFrontend and I can use that to have a modified version of my css that goes fuck up on mobile and even add classes to hide some stuff on mobile
The switch to Vecotr-2022 has been done, now I just need to sort and get rid of older css changes that are yuck on the new skin
bro locked a wip page
if its work in progress and not complete why lock it?
if because its discontinued well the mod still exists? just not being updated
no reason in my opinion to lock i guess
not like iam going to edit it but still
Its locked because its a project main page, I still need to change some stuff but basically what needs doing is the subpages, I should reword that to say that its incomplete instead
Then I can unlock it
Thanks for pointing that out
yeah probably should not lock work in progress pages
Hi Tera,
Beautiful site,
Only one thing that jumped out at me.
The first paragraph, first sentences, have links leaving your site. I think it would be help if the first links lead to pages within your wiki.
Perhaps create subpage(s) for items such as Minecraft Starmute Java Bedrock Datapacks, have links direct to those pages which will have links leading away from your site
It might be good to have all links that are on the main page lead to some page within your wiki.
I understand why that can be an issue (Im guessing you are refering to mc versions and minecraft wiki links) but since its developping exclusively for that game and using those tools from that game (which are not that kwown by everyone) I feel obligated to explain that before everything
I could add more links to within the wiki but seeing has it is dependent on Minecraft and so dependent on the Minecraft wiki I feel that its not wrong if I redirect to there
Which ones exactly are disturbing?
it's about presentation. when someone visits your site for first time, by clicking on any link, they automatically leave your wiki. by having the links point to another page or at least another section within the same page, the visitor remains on your site a little longer so they can get a feel for the site.
If they click on a link and leave your wiki, then the only way they'll return is either by using the browser back button or if another site redirects.
However, if the link were to send the visitor to another part of your wiki, then it will be up to the visitor to stay or continue to explore your wiki.
I understand your concerns but I don't think I can do that, I feel like it's taking away credit from Minecraft and its tools despite the fact that everything on this Wiki would be non-existent without them. I also believe it's clear enough that those links will lead you away from the Wiki but worst case is a missclick and just ctrl+Z
People sometimes even stumble onto the projects wiki without knowing wtf a Datapack is
Anyways, I wish I could find other Minecraft mods Wiki that either did or didnt do like me but eh
Many thanks for your feedback still
Right now I'm working on reorganizing the CSS and making it consistent, infoboxes, toolbox, search box, etc all have different background colors and borders and it's annoying me
Can't seem to be able to modify the twitter embed directly onto my wiki, I guess it's loaded from a separate source and cannot be altered?
I have no clue why mobilefrontend is not applying despite following the instruction
Ive put the a copy of common.css in mobile.css and added the string they tell you to add in mobile.js
No difference

Allowing myself to up this support thread after doing a bunch of CSS changes im pretty happy with

I am still unable to make MobileFrontEnd work though
miraheze is shutting down move elsewhere now
Usefull.
no they are not
they recently made an announcement saying they want to try and recover
