just wondering if we could maybe get a better way of controlling the height of our tricks ? ive been playing this game for a long long time and i still find it hard to get a consistent popping height. i like to hold down the back foot when readying up for a trick but that usually means ill pop way too high and slam on a rail and bonce off. i dont want to have to change my pop height in the settings for every different trick im trying.

maybe, depending on how far we pull down for our popping foot that could control the height better? i know it could mess with mannies but cmon, i want more control please please please

currently, its all based on how long you hold the back foot down before you pop. pretty much the time between when you start to crouch till you are fully crouched is your pop height control window. flicking front foot anytime between that will give you different pop heights.

so if you pull back foot down then instantly flick front foot up (fast inputs before skater crouches), you'll get a really low ollie. if you hold back foot down a a slight bit longer, you'll pop a bit higher. holding back foot down till your skater fully crouches then flicking front foot will give you Max pop height.

just experiment with the different set up foot durations before flicking front foot and you'll eventually notice what times in the crouching window will give you the pop height you want.

I've suggested using the stick to control how far you crouch, and how high you pop before.

I suggested either pulling the stick roughly half way back abruptly or tapping the stick (L1 or R1) when it's roughly half way back to roll into manuals.

You'd just hold the stick half way back to drop into a manual. You'd only need to pull it back abruptly or tap it to roll into a manual.

You'd have analog crouching and popping, and you'd have better manuals. Manuals would be able to tip back onto the tail, and the input would be centered and symmetrical.

I know the team were aware of the suggestion, but don't know if it was rejected or just hasn't been looked at yet.

It'd also eliminate the little, inadvertent manuals you get when you crouch too slowly or release the sticks asymmetrically after a landing.

There are a bunch of minor technicalities with it, but I'm confident it could work.

you said " currently " so that means it could be subjected to some changes lol. i know how the current system works but as it plays rn its clunky. having a visual confirmation animation kinda like how the old skate games did when youd slowly pull down and watch the character stay at the height of the pulled stick at whatever position would be nice. the way the system works now is kinda guessing what height you get with how long you hold it down. i dont mind the way it works and session is still my favorite game but just wanted it to feel polished. more constant control.

@strange lichen - Have the team rejected implementing an option for analog crouch and pop, or is it something they still need to consider, once higher priorities have been addressed etc?
