upload log-sharp.txt
it says “access to the path ‘celeste.exe’ is denied”. i’m assuming you are re-downloading everest, did you make sure to select Celeste.exe in “Your Installations”?
should be on the left side of the main olympus menu
is celeste closed while you're trying to install everest?
yes
hmm, make sure you have write permissions for Celeste.exe then
How?
rightclick > Properties > Security
there's a little table at the bottom, Write should be ticked
it doesn't work either
what doesn't work?
i wrote permissions and it doesn't work
hmm, can you click the Advanced button in that window and make sure you're the owner of the file?
still the same...
<@&673391557939953684> did we ever figure out how to deal with the file permissions issue?
this happened, when i reinstalled celeste after critical error
have you tried verifying game files on steam?
I tried to do it and it doesn't matter
i mean, verified or not, steam or non-steam, it doesn't work anyway
well, i tried to install everest to Celeste/orig and it semi-installed
what does semi-installed mean?
can you delete the orig folder, verify game files, then try again?
I assume it successfully installed onto the orig file, which breaks the whole point of having the orig folder exist
ah yes, i deleted orig folder and i was installing everest, but it was infinitely "creating Mods Directory"
I read log-sharp and it says that "Celeste not read-writeable - waiting"
What should I do?
try verifying the game files to get a clean celeste install, or just reinstall it (the first option's quicker i think)
then reinstall everest, and don't delete orig
tbh if file permissions are fucked, a clean reinstall might be more likely to fix it than verifying
oh, i forgot about a "read-only" tick in folder properties
