stone hollow
#

hmmm, what does your updaterblacklist.txt look like?

wild ridge
#

hold on

stone hollow
#

did you try using a * in it or something? laugheline

wild ridge
#

its empty

#

lmao

stone hollow
#

could you try deleting it? 😅

wild ridge
#

yeah

#

oh thanks! that worked, it didnt error this time

stone hollow
#

even if you never touched it, there's supposed to be stuff there by default thinkeline

wild ridge
#

i spoke too soon
went to download dependencies for a mod and it error'd again 😭

stone hollow
#

what did it say this time? 😅

wild ridge
#

System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters in path.

stone hollow
#

could you post the whole error again?

#

if updaterblacklist.txt got corrupted it's not impossible other files got too, I'm thinking of blacklist.txt ohnoshiro

wild ridge
#

hmm

#

lemme check

wild ridge
#

as for blacklist.txt:

#

doesn't look corrupted

stone hollow
#

that'd be modoptionsorder.txt I think laugheline

stone hollow
#

I think what's happening is that it's not really empty, but it's filled with null bytes, they're invisible in notepad (I saw that happen before)

stone hollow
#

yeah you can, it displays null bytes as NUL like that

wild ridge
#

yea its full of nul

stone hollow
#

delete it as well then ohnoshiro

wild ridge
#

don't wanna jinx it but it seems like it's working now, thanks!

#

altough i do want to ask, is there any relation to those corrupted files with pc crashing?

stone hollow
#

your PC crashing shortly after writing those files would leave them like that, yeah ohnoshiro it first "reserves the space" for the file, then writes the content a bit later

wild ridge
#

hm

#

i thought it would've been related to me using obs along with celeste, considering it didnt crash earlier but when i used obs it started to

stone hollow
#

but I don't see how those corrupted files would have crashed the whole computer yeah ohnoshiro

wild ridge
#

mayhaps it's related to obs
