#what are your thoughts on speedtech that players made in celeste?

I think tasers should be shot for all the shit they're making up that clearly isn't real
ok?
do you not enjoy mb6fbhsphdrcb (which is a terrible alternative name for a real tech)
Please tell me the tech
roboboost, hyper with 6f bhop subpixels and rcb from the top of a moving block
almost all speedtech was actually intended
the exceptions that i can remember are demodashes and ultras, but there are a few more
according to the faq also bubsdrop and going through b-sides to skip a-sides
??? THATS UNINTENDED??
i mean the b side thing
yes
almost all the basic speedtech was intended
but if you include all of the tech, the vast majority is very not intended
i don't think the devs intended the use of a downwards overclock to do a quintuple cornerboost and septuple multiboost and then ultra, only for it to be slightly slower due to being unable to do a door grounded ultra cancel
and then the, like, 90 other pieces of unintended tech
I don’t think they intended me :D
true, you were not created by extremely ok games
unintended tech is just a combination/permutation of a bunch of intended tech
that's sometimes correct
wait, is that the elusive actual gameplay use for doors? how does that even work?
ohh wait found a vid, temple doors
not hotel wood/metal doors
Spike jumps?
intended
I’m pretty sure you weren’t meant to cheat death
Ok ur shitting me
How about
Idk what to say
How about hehe a platform with spikes is moving up you can jump on them
That’s not intended right?
A. The majority was intended. Here's the major stuff that wasn't known at release, but was later embraced/accepted:
- progressing via completing B-Sides before A-Sides
- demo-dash
- bubsdrop
- ultras
Pretty much everything else was either actively designed, or at the very least discovered during development and designed around at that point (for example, the required various flavours of spike jumps for dashless) - Kevin
they probably meant corner jumping, as spike jumping is physically impossible in 1a as there is no downwind
^ yeah thats why i deleted earlier msg
Ohhh didn't see that
iirc corner jumping is jumping on corners with spikes on all sides and spike jumping is smth pushing you into spikes and they not killing you
yes
I think that based on this message that spike jumps were not intended, but it is hard to know if kevin meant spike jumps or corner jumps

@minor tangle
corner jumps are 100% intended
but seriously yea see above, for my quoted text from Czensored. re: Corner boosts - they were a side effect of fixing something else, and we subsequently embraced them because they're p cool
