i havent updated anything or changed any settings
and this is just a stock celeste install
im not really sure what to do so any help would be appreciated <3
what’s your hardware?
the laptop is an old macbook pro
model number a1398
its currently running windows 10
this is the part that really baffles me; nothing has changed about my setup but it just. doesnt work now
the issue persists through reboots and reinstalls of celeste
Maybe check your Windows update history.
nothing
If you haven’t done it yet, try using Everest to launch Celeste
Hopefully you mean olympus
It does sound like a graphics driver issue, do you see graphics cards listed in Device Manager?
Otherwise you could try switching to opengl
i dont know what that is
mac can do that..?
Try running celeste on macos
i dont have that installed
like i said though, i havent changed anything since last week when it worked
ill check this as soon as im able 👍
okay… I mean olympus. Just try fna instead of xna maybe it’ll work
whats olympus
will do with the fna vs. xna thing
Olympus is the Everest installer and mod manager.
You should have downloaded it and used it to install Everest.

The tutorial should help
You don’t have to download strawberry jam if you’re just playing vanilla for now
this fixed the issue
it will help the issue if it happens in the future ?
It’s pretty much the same method. Olympus just makes the game run in fna
Not sure where you got that information from
when i first play modded celeste it causes me serious screen tearing problems.
Then I saw a reddit post when I'm searching for a solution saying something like olympus uses fna that works differently comparing to xna and that's probably the reason why there's issues.
I know little about game development. I’d be happy if you can correct me if I said anything wrong.
Everest makes the game run in FNA yes
Because it upgrades a bunch of stuff, notably .NET, and XNA has been abandoned by Microsoft long ago
Olympus just installs Everest and launches the game
Once Everest is installed, running the game through Olympus or through Steam is no different (except if you enabled "use OpenGL" in Options & Updates 🤷♀️)
