Trying to launch Everest immediately crashes with this error message:
"System.EntryPointNotFoundException: Unable to find an entry point named 'SteamInternal_SteamAPI_Init' in DLL 'steam_api64'.

#

at least without verifying game files not that i read this twice

#

all i know is that for whatever reason sometimes the libraries arent copied

hollow finch
ripe pendant
#

verifying game files should fix it though thonkeline

hollow finch
#

its library weirdness probably

hollow finch
#

remember all those people who had csteamworks crashes

#

i think only a full reinstall fixed things because it deleted everest-lib and lib64-win-x64

#

and steamworks.net.dll

#

i still don't understand whats going on but my running theory is that for whatever reason the new libraries just arent overwritten

ripe pendant
#

but like

#

its in the depot

#

steam should overwrite it to the vanilla one

hollow finch
#

the thing is

#

im pretty sure whats happening is that vanilla is restored properly yes

#

but then a mixture of old and new dlls are being copied over

#

why? id like to know myself

#

i know for sure that this persists a verify and reinstall

hmmmmmmmmm

#

deleting a couple more files did fix it

#

specifically steamworks.net.dll and one other file that didnt get reinstalled

hollow finch
#

thought they'd get replaced after deleting the folders but apparently not

#

i wasnt sure if they would

for some reason i can't find the part of the guidelines that tells you not to ask for help in other people's posts (instead of making your own) but don't do that
