have you tried verifying game files and reinstalling everest
Steam Instructions
Epic Games Store Instructions
If you have Everest installed, you will need to reinstall it after verifying.
@ripe pendant it begins
i have, this didn't fix it
the status was "the user is trying to downgrade which we don't support"
at least without verifying game files not that i read this twice
all i know is that for whatever reason sometimes the libraries arent copied
ohh right yeah hm
delete everest-lib and lib64-win-x64 from the game files before reinstalling everest then
verifying game files should fix it though
its library weirdness probably
yeah no
remember all those people who had csteamworks crashes
i think only a full reinstall fixed things because it deleted everest-lib and lib64-win-x64
and steamworks.net.dll
i still don't understand whats going on but my running theory is that for whatever reason the new libraries just arent overwritten
the thing is
im pretty sure whats happening is that vanilla is restored properly yes
but then a mixture of old and new dlls are being copied over
why? id like to know myself
i know for sure that this persists a verify and reinstall
#modding_dev message
hmmmmmmmmm
this also didnt fix it
deleting a couple more files did fix it
specifically steamworks.net.dll and one other file that didnt get reinstalled
i kind of expected it
thought they'd get replaced after deleting the folders but apparently not
i wasnt sure if they would
Sorry, I'm having the same issue as you - what did you do that ended up fixing it? I've just came back to the game after about a year of not playing, and this was a pretty weird way to come back!!
for some reason i can't find the part of the guidelines that tells you not to ask for help in other people's posts (instead of making your own) but don't do that
