I'm not at my computer right now, so I'll have to take any advice later, but I keep having a persistent issue while playing, thats causing my computer to reset every few minutes while I'm playing the game. I've checked other sources, and apparently this is a unique issue. unfortunately I'm not very good with computers, so if anyone could offer some advice/possible solutions, I would greatly appreciate it.

also, no mods installed (yet)

also do you mean your pc locks up completely

With vanilla, yes

#

this is probably a graphics driver issue

To switch to the version of Celeste using the FNA framework, go to your Steam properties for Celeste and switch to the opengl beta.
If you have Everest, you will need to reinstall it after doing this.

I do have it on steam

if it still happens on fna then it's very likely a gpu driver crash

in which case you should update your gpu drivers - you can find them on the website of your gpu's vendor
-# windows driver updates are an exercise in futility

I see.

I'm uh... Not the best (I'm closer to the worst) with computers and stuff

honest wave
#

yeah and that's why i'm here

I know where the power button is, and that's the extent of my knowledge 😭 you are a lifesaver

honest wave
#

at least you're cooperative because there's plenty of people who are tougher to work with

So uh... I tried fna, and switched to the opengl beta. It still crashed partway, so I went to the Nvidia website to see if I could update my drivers.

#

I uh... I'm extremely embarrassed to say this, but I do not even know how to find what drivers I have currently.

After following some YouTube tutorials, I updated my driver and I'm now testing to see if the game will work now.

#

...it failed :<

#

The only thing left I can imagine is to check my cooling paste and get it cleaned, but I already had intentions to do that anyway

honest wave
#

that shouldn't really be a concern unless you're really overheating

I'm a day late, but I recently learned that my computer will consistently crash, when I'm not playing any game, so this leads me to believe it's not a problem with Celeste, and rather a problem with my computer.
The odd part is, it doesn't crash while I'm playing any other games bruheline

yeah this sounds like a hardware problem
