It keeps telling me something about mini installer and giving me that message
I don't know much about this so I'm confused on what to do about it
do you have the piton-runtime folder in your celeste files
yeah, delete it and try again
not sure whether you need to reinstall everest for it, but try without reinstalling first
Alright
Thanks
I'll let you know what happens :D
I did it and just got this
Is this all correct? (I only coloured out my name)
I also have these two folders, do they cause any issues?
Oh well
A second ago piton-runtime just said runtime :P
But its back now?
Where does it say old?
in the gamebanana page it says old
the file should be in the same place as the installer you just got
Alr
in any case i suggest getting olympus instead of using the old installer
this one?
If I go to install everest it shows all of this
have you looked at the bottom of olympus
The bottom of all the versions or the olympus application?
This?
no, don't use this anymore
Oh
you have olympus, this will be your installer
why are you scrolling to the bottom, pick one of the pinned versions up top and click install
yknow, the long button at the bottom
okay so its not a runtime thing
@thorn mango do you remember what was this caused by
do they have to install the .net 7 runtime themselves
I don't
But the MS docs had the meaning of that error
Afaik it might be a corrupted Celeste / MiniInstaller file, if I remember correctlx
mmh im sure they've reinstalled
Then see this
just did
Initialization of the hostpolicy library failed. The corehost_load method takes a structure with lot of initialization parameters. If the version of this structure doesn't match the expected value, this error code is returned. This would in general mean incompatibility between the hostfxr and hostpolicy, which should really only happen if somehow a newer hostpolicy is used by older hostfxr. This typically means corrupted installation.
i think
corrupted installation
weird
@brisk root can you completely uninstall celeste, delete the celeste folder and reinstall it
if you're worried about saves, steam cloud should handle those, but you can always make a manual backup in case, by copying the Saves folder somewhere else, like your desktop
hostpolicy library != hostpolicy dependency resolver
I just got the game on steam so the saves don't matter, I delete this?
no, the folder this is in
uninstall celeste first
Alr
ok damnit
oh the error is right above
How do I find the file that was in?
Initialization of the hostpolicy dependency resolver failed. This can be:
- One of the frameworks or the app is missing a required .deps.json file.
- One of the .deps.json files is invalid (invalid JSON, or missing required properties and so on).
wait so .deps.json is invalid
right click and open file location
okay so, new plan
instead of completely deleting celeste, delete all ".deps.json" files from the celeste folder
Thissss?
Alr
then verify game files again just to be safe and install everest again
Yeah that's what I was thinking about
Just press the verify button here?
that does the same thing iirc
but i sent a message where you can do this yourself
Alright I verified it
did you delete all the deps json files
Yeah
okay, let's try installing it again
am i missing something then

Oh nvm?
I just tried it again without doing anything and it worked?
Launch?
Its working :D
Thanks so much for helping sorry for taking so long
i mean hey if it works it works
Thanks :D
also in the future please don't delete the original posts because this prevents us from marking them as resolved
