was just playing yesterday, what is this. and why? which one do i select?

if i select cancel it just closes out back to steam and game doesn't load

like i don't want to pick the wrong thing and delete my files i dunno. i dont' trust anything with software lately when there's bugs

If I'm correct, when you played yesterday Steam failed to save your progress to the cloud. This is a problem if you play on multiple computers as they would have different saved data. Your Local Save is the most up to date so I would pick that save and make sure it saves to the cloud when you are done playing

Doesn't steam have a function for you to go back to a previous version?

i am not sure, but if you choose overwrite local saves i do strongly believe that, if you fuck up, you will have fucked up

yes i know that the Backup folder exists, but that should be only for emergency cases

in general, if you only play on one device, pick whichever one has been more recently modified

which will usually be local

but even then, that "most recent modified" may be what is broken because of an unsynced shutdown, or a failed save
theres no definitive answer here, being careful is just the best choice
