#Everest and olympus failed to open/reinstall

I tried to open celeste when i realised its unmodded, when i tried to open olympus, its just a white screen and shortly after it stops responding. Everest cant install anything and throws a error as soon as i hit install. Ive tried reinstalling both olympus and everest to no avail

#

ive been told this could be a issue with moving everest to core and was told to ping @slow night

For some users, Olympus freezes on a white or black screen on startup for unknown reasons. You can attempt the following fixes:
-If you have a third party antivirus, check if it's blocking/quarantining Olympus.
-Restart your PC.
-Update your graphics drivers.
-Delete and reinstall Olympus.
If none of those work, no fix for this is currently known and you have to use one of the following alternate installation methods:
-On Windows, the old graphical Everest installer is available at https://gamebanana.com/dl/430740.
-Mons (https://github.com/coloursofnoise/mons/) is a command line based cross-platform installer that is similarly powerful to Olympus. However, it requires some base familiarity with the command line.
-Alternatively, you can use the manual installation method described under "Cross-platform manual installation" at https://everestapi.github.io/.

I guess this might be relevant?

#

Outside of that I would need the miniinstaller logs

Try validating game files, then try again

nocturne pike
#

still fails, both everest and olympus

slow night
#

Can you translate the non-englush parts of the error message real quick?

nocturne pike
#

in the miniinstaler?

#

something along the lines of
"Iniciator type reported a exception for type ' MonoMod.InlineRT.MonoModRulesManager '

and

--- End of path of pile of internal exceptions

I'm mostly refering to this: ```
w MonoMod.InlineRT.MonoModRulesManager..cctor()
--- Koniec ladu stosu wyjtkw wewntrznych ---
w MonoMod.InlineRT.MonoModRulesManager.Register(MonoModder self)

#

But you might be able to just uninstall it from the control panel?

nocturne pike
#

brittle locust
#

they can do a manual update?

slow night
#

Honestly I have no clue what's causing any of this

#

That Everest installer error is top-tier exorcist material

brittle locust
#

idk every single thing olympus adds that needs to be removed

brittle locust
#

so settings > programs and applications > olympus

nocturne pike
#

nope, doesnt work there either

#

i honestly dont even know why any of this doesnt work, this is my first time running celeste in like 2 weeks

brittle locust
#

just to check real quick, what does dotnet --list-runtimes say? type that into cmd or powershell

nocturne pike
brittle locust
#

hm okay so the runtimes are there

#

well i have no real ideas, but for olympus you could maybe do this

In some cases, Olympus fails to check for updates, meaning you'll need to perform the update yourself.
Here's the steps explaining how to do so:

  • Download the latest Olympus stable build. You can find it here.
  • Open the zip file you just downloaded. Go to the folder inside it, and open the dist.zip inside.
    • Those are the new Olympus files.
  • Press Windows+R. Type in %appdata%\Olympus and press Enter.
    • If you do not have a Windows key, right click the Start logo, and click on "Run".
    • Those are the old Olympus files.
  • Delete all the old Olympus files, and replace them with the new Olympus files.
  • Launch Olympus.
The update should now be complete. You can verify that by clicking on "Options & Updates".
