So I was fiddling around with some triggers, trying to learn deco and bloom and color and the such, and I added a "FrostHelper/Styleground/BlendModeTrigger" with the settings attatched below. The moment I hit save on lonn to check what it would do in game, my monitor turned off for like 5 seconds and my game crashed..,, Attatched is log.txt and the settings for the styleground trigger thing. Crash message told me to report this so i did :3

#

if you need a log.sharp tell me :3

#
Present failed! Error Code: The operation completed successfully. (0x00000000)
(11/29/2023 20:16:58) [Everest] [Error] [crit-error-handler] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ENCOUNTERED A CRITICAL ERROR <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
--------------------------------
System.InvalidOperationException: Present failed! Error Code: The operation completed successfully. (0x00000000)

@earnest gazelle haha

#

#

@lapis rock i recommend updating everest though

#

lapis rock
#

damn i thought i was on the latest core vers ig not?

wide shoal
#

the core branch is now deprecated

lapis rock
#

ohh

#

that probably explains my confusion like a week ago

wide shoal
#

core is expected to hit beta on december 2nd and stable on dec 16th

lapis rock
#

banger !!

lapis rock
#

didnt crash this time, it might have been the new everest version or if "Error Code: The operation completed successfully." was just wacky

wide shoal
#

"Present failed!" means that celeste failed to present itself to your monitor

#

probably because it was off

#

for some reason it gave an error code 0 widergladeline3

my computer does have this bug where every once in a while it kinda shuts down for a couple seconds., its not like i don't restart it or anything its just been doing that for as long as i remember

wide shoal
#

which means success

lapis rock
#

its kinda concerning

wide shoal
#

do you mean like

#

completely shuts down or goes to sleep?

lapis rock
#

its not a virus, ive run many antiviruses

wide shoal
#

that is... concerning

#

id have that looked at

lapis rock
#

yeah.. i've heard it can be caused by some issues related to power distribution or something, but i have a laptop so idk

wide shoal
#

does your laptop have decent cooling

#

i've had a dell from 2016 which died due to overheating cus it had poor cooling

lapis rock
#

actually that is a problem with my laptop, its why i bought extra like fans that i put under it

#

my model has reviews related to over heating

wide shoal
#

that might not be enough since the heatsink can't expel the beat anywhere

#

that's like

#

my only theory

#

cus it can't be a single component fucking up

#

pardon my language

#

since you claim that your monitors disappear and audio bugs out

lapis rock
wide shoal
#

motherboard issues??

#

which could be caused by overheating i suppose

lapis rock
#

perhaps? the person i heard of before had issues of attaching one power supply to two 3080s but like my computer has one 2060 so it probably doesnt use too much power

wide shoal
#

your pc can still overheat

#

heat is the death of laptops

lapis rock
#

very true

wide shoal
#

check your temperatures imo

#

worth taking note of

lapis rock
#

yep, seems like it was a problem with my computer. i did essentially the same thing that i THOUGHT caused the crash and it didnt that time.

#

funny to realize my computer messing up causes a task failed sucessfully laugheline

wide shoal
#

yeah concerneline
