I have been playing mods for like two weeks now, and got this error tonight when I closed the game. Can anyone tell me what it means. The error_log says that Celeste encountered a catastrophic failure, but I opened the game and played two minutes and everything looked fine.

hmm. actually you said you get the crash when closing the game, right?
maybe the crash happened after the game stopped writing to the log file or something

I closed the game by clicking stop in steam, then the notepad thingy file opened

you should probably close the game using the Exit option in game instead of externally forcing it to close
