changing binds in everest

I can't change binds in everest, and other people I've talked to seem to have the same problem, is there a possible way I can do it? It is important for an event Brazilian community wants to do and that is getting in the way

And if there isn't a way to currently do it, could anyone help to make it possible?
We as brazilian community are trying to go to the biggest Brazilian speedrun marathon "Brazilians against time" to play a Strawberry Jam Beginner + intermediate any% relay race with 14 people, but as it would be in the same computer, we need to change the binds in the middle of the run. But because everest doesn't let you set new binds, we don't know what to do.
Any help would be appreciated

just regular gameplay binds like dash, jump etc? Everest doesn't change anything about that compared to vanilla I think

should be able to bind anything you want in the vanilla options menu either from main menu or in game

Yeah, that doesn't work for me 😦 and the other people I talked to said the same

like I can remove the binds

Is it on controller? Or just keyboard

Some things that come to mind are, caps lock/num lock issues (I don't think celeste cares though), or it's just specific buttons that don't work, or it doesn't work with the keyboard layout and you could try a different one

I play on controller so that's for sure, but not sure about kn

I definitely don't, been changing binds even mid chapter (mature grape+)

Have you checked if it also happens in vanilla celeste?

this sounds like what happens if you have a sticky key - although for so many people to have it sounds unlikely
if it comes down to it, you should be able to manually set binds by editing settings.celeste (found in the saves folder) - modded binds will instead be in the respective modsettings-modname.celeste file

Happens with all different controllers I have, even the ones working completely fine in game

having a key stuck on your keyboard would cause the same thing but agree that it's unlikely

I'd say it's impossible, happens every time I try and happened to the other 2 people I asked
I can't test it rn cuz travelling, but talking with the rest of the brazilian community seems like it's a controller thing, on keyboard it's normal, but on controller we can't change binds

Anyone have any idea of what we could do to help? Or if everest team doesn't know about it warn them and try to get it fixed

not being able to change binds has been a thing in the past, but I have no clue why it would be happening so consistently maybe a language settings thing?
