#Celeste.Net Issue.

nod, I've tried changing the set ip but it's not fruitful
I may have posted in the wrong forum, all though I have not taken any time to learn the clock work of this server as of yet
so I must apologize
Celeste.Net Issue.
@lofty iris hi there, can you post your log.txt? it contains a description of what went wrong when connecting
it should be where your celeste is installed
it will be done as soon as the game re-installs on my desktop, if the error persists I'll send it-
i have a feeling it might not be an install issue, but rather a DNS issue
what is DNS? it's the way your computer turns domain names (like celestenet.0x0a.de) into IP addresses (like 148.251.181.209)
fortunately there's an easy workaround
con 148.251.181.209
I have already opened the command prompt
I've checked logs
I have set the route as con 148.251.181.209
ah, right, i'm blind
it could be a mod thing then
well, could you post the log if you can?
I shall when the game finishes installing, I live in the middle of literal nowhere so my satellite internet doesn't really work very well.
i see, that could contribute to it
mhm, I doubt it because it worked like 2 weeks ago
with the same upload and download
figures
it's worked during thunder storms, when my ping bounces in discord from 600- 3300
also snip is such a creature
?
( compliment aaaaa )
ah, thanks
from the way you worded it i wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean at first*, but ty
it'll be a few hours unfortunately. Shall I just send the log contents when it's finished
just though they were neat is all
actually, did you try to connect before reinstalling? the connection error might still be there
I did!
send me the window R command to run
i just need the log.txt inside the folder where celeste itself is
the previous logs may not have the error
(though if you had the issue for weeks then idk)
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
Celeste.Mod.CelesteNet.Client.ConnectionErrorException: Server rejected teapot handshake (status 403): Invalid key
very much points to either:
- internet issues
- some program interfering with the connection
- the connection going through, but getting rejected due to an invalid (i assume revoked) key
I've revoked the key than sent it back to the client
I was suggested to do that when the issue first started
by a friend
i guess it didn't reset properly?
though the "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." sounds suspicious
this sounds like an antivirus thing
windows-defender is the root issue?
uhhh i wouldn't say the root issue
cus other times the connection succeeded
or got timed out
well, let's tackle the key thing first, you say you revoked, reset the key and sent it to client, right
when the issue started
did you try that again at some point? if no, then i guess the "send to client" part didn't work or something
maybe you forgot to send to client at some point i guess
after the game is reinstalled, try opening it, then going to the website @ https://celestenet.0x0a.de/ and sending the key to the client again
will do!
then i guess you could try again a couple of times, and if it doesn't work, maybe tell defender to whitelist celeste or https://celestenet.0x0a.de/
somehow
