Previously had lua throwing errors in Olympus (or Love?) when navigating the GUI. Reported here: https://github.com/EverestAPI/Olympus/issues/48
No fix except to work around it by updating mods manually via filesystem (instead of gamebanana GUI), and launching via Steam.
Eventually Wartori54 had advice and suggested that updating to love 11.4 fixes the issue (it already was updated on my machine, but I still had the error). Their secondary advice was to delete the love shell script from olympus' working directory. I did this, and it seemed to stabilize Olympus itself, but also seemed to introduce the issue that Celeste would now not launch at all. I was even unable to launch via Steam.
Following a steam forum suggestion (regarding games that don't launch), I used steam GUI to "verify integrity" of local game files (it found a couple issues and reinstalled those files). I was then able to launch the game via Steam and Olympus, but there was no Everest when in-game. I have tried looking for logs to diagnose the issue, but there was no crash anymore and I didn't find anything by randomly poking around.
I then tried rolling back to a previously installed, known-working version of Everest (still no mods in game) and reinstalling olympus (ditto) to see if those fixed the issues and had no luck.
It's been months since I've been able to play, and I just let it be. Today, I opened olympus and saw that there was an update (23.05.24.03), so I updated. I then clicked the relaunch button and it crashed (I unfortunately forgot to copy the error before closing the window, but it was a lua process again). Reopened Olympus and it appears to have successfully updated, just the relaunch failed.
Updated Everest to 4000 and launched into game. Got the vanilla intro screen as if I'd never played yet.
My saves were still there though😅
If there's any additional info I can give, please lmk.
I worry I've been too verbose, but I'm trying to give relevant details.
What now?
Or what exactly is the remaining issue here.
