#[Linux] Fails to download dependencies for sj
31 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I cannot do this even with the latest build of Everest, can I have a link with all the dependencies so I can install them manually?
I'm trying the latest build of Everest on Olympus.
Downloading dependencies seems to fail.
and since it looks like my post is muted, I believe it is appropriate to ping just before giving up

Pretty sure it is the problem with Everest as it wasn't mod specific.
download them via gamebanana or olympus instead - everest can't resume downloads so when you try to download stuff with slightly fuzzy internet it has issues
here's the list of dependencies sj uses
I'm seeing something similar to this but it isn't letting me download dependencies from olympus either. Any advice?
The most reliable download method for spotty internet is to download directly through the browser and perform a manual installation- nowhere near as complicated as it sounds. Following is a demonstration using Maddie's Helping Hand.
To begin, you will want to download the mod via your browser. Scrolling to the top of the Files section on the gamebanana page will allow you to access this Manual Download button under the most recent version of the file.
Clicking the aforementioned button will take you to a second download page. I honestly don't understand the necessity of the page, but clicking the Download button on the uppermost file version will prompt download of the most uptodate version of the mod. This will place a zipped folder in your Downloads folder.
From here, you simply need to drag this entire zipped folder into your Mods folder. Your Mods folder's location depends on the launcher you initially installed Celeste with, however through Olympus you should have a shortcut to this folder via the Manage Installed Mods button followed by Open mods folder. Once you have dragged this zipped folder over, manual installation is complete.
Due to the file naming conventions of manually downloaded mods, your installation of the mod will not automatically replace existing versions of the mod, and I have yet to test whether Everest handles redundant mod files. I expect Everest will handle any kinks however it is worth ensuring you delete old versions of mods that you update using this install method
@stray gull one answer to your question, if you'd like to use this install method
you can also just drag the downloaded zip into the olympus window and it will automatically rename it and put it in the mods folder
didnt know this, useful info
I don't think my internet connection was having problems. I think it was probably done sort of permissions issue. where can I find the zip for mods?
Are you asking for locations of already installed mods?
and before this is a loenn being open moment
I don't have loenn open. I am able to download mods from olympus, but when I lauch everest it will say that I'm missing required dependencies and if I press the button to install them it times out trying to connect to the mod database
i.e it gets stuck here:
fixed! updating Olympus to 4003 fixed it!!!!
were you on 4000 before?
yeah
also it didn't fully fix it. It worked for a smaller mod (asteroid belt) but didn't solve it for strawberry jam
I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!! I was having trouble connecting to IPV6 addresses
hey
Can I know the fix for this? Dependencies still don't install automatically for me. (and it is a pain when there are a lot of dependencies)
for me the problem was that my router was misbehaving and not assigning ipv6 addresses
this is an incredibly specific issue, it's highly unlikely that you're actually running into the same thing - could you make a thread in #953393160464269402 with your log-sharp
Cool, let me try that
