Stuck on screen of Madeline running as the game loads + dependency issues

Hello! I kept getting stuck on the installing dependency screen, eventually leading to a freeze or a crash. now when I try to launch everest, it is just stuck on the loading screen with Maddie running in the corner.

My friend helped me find the log

locate your saves folder, open modsettings-Everest.celeste, and set FastTextureLoading: false

I looked all over in the celeste resources folder and couldnt find modsettings, nor oculd I find it searching my hard drive

on mac it is apparently in ~/Library/Application Support/Celeste/Saves
