#Can't run strawberry jam, too many files open

and my mods are all zip files, not folders
seems to be solved by setting FastTextureLoading: false in Saves/modsettings-Everest.celeste
confirmed; I ran into this problem on linux and the same fix worked
what helper is that setting in? I can’t remember
its not in the everest settings, its in a helper. just dont know which one… im gonna try enabling a few helpers at a time cuz my game is tweakin hard rn
soo, a helper is adding a config options to modsettings-Everest? 😬
fast texture loading is an Everest thing
Are there any adverse effects to disabling this? Is it just something like aggressive loading at startup or does it have deeper effects?
Relatedly I think there's a bug somewhere with the error log opening with a too many open files error, every once in a while it'll open a bunch of (sometimes empty) error logs
It is kind of funny to get jumpscared by 20 instances of emacs though
where is that file on linux?
startup might take longer
~/.local/share/Celeste/Saves/modsettings-Everest.celeste
Should I create it if it doesn't already exist?
does the folder exist?
I would try to make some changes to the everest settings from in-game (blacklist all mods to get everest to boot) and see if it creates that file
i mixed up fast shape draw with fast texture loading… my bad g
