olympus keeps crashing
I play the game on a handheld device called RG351MP
and its linux based
does celeste itself even work properly on that? looks like that's an ARM device
you can try following these instructions (I know yours is not a switch, but the switch is also ARM based) https://github.com/pixelomer/Celeste-ARM64
might be
how do i use it
github is too complicated to read on
because i can play tghe game
just the mods might not work because they are made for windows celeste
the handheld i play on has a big community so playing games and ports that dont use emulators works fine
just that mods might not
you can just try the manual everest installation if olympus isn't working
ok
I'm surprised that you didn't have to do any extra things to get celeste working. does game sound and everything work?
yes
its quite simple when the device is easy to use and has a big community
it uses sd cards to store information (games) so i can plug it in to my pc
but some games require linux ports and its annoying to find online
did you have to do any extra steps to get celeste working?
the fmod files are extra steps
ok then
but is wasn't hard to do
i want to download a couple of custom maps
but i use an old version of celeste which i can't update
ah then that's not gonna work
ok
in olympus it gave me a bunch of errors
but in the gamedata folder i found a folder called maps
can i manually add maps
or do i have to use olympus
theoretically you can manually replace maps, but 99% of them rely on everest
ok
but if i replace the original map files with my own ones
can that work
the game story will get messed up but im okay with that
i just copy the game
so i have a original one
and a modded one
if you don't use any modded entities and are fine with being forced into vanilla metadata, yes
alternatively you could just buy the game so you have access to the most recent version
I'm not gonna get into the argument of why profiting off the hard work of indie game developers for free is bad here, this thread is quickly becoming a waste of time
ill just buy the game when i have the money for it and than i can use mods ig
