Hang on I just wanna be clear I get the no location bombing stuff makes sense but y the no name dropping as if admins need to spectate and watch to see if they are cheating or not how are they expected to find the cheater quickly to catch them in the act?

We have admin tools at our disposal as well as knowing certain quirks of the game to be able to tell pretty quickly if someone is cheating or not. It works well for the vast majority of cases, and when it doesn't, we observe for longer to see if something isn't right.

We also have always said, if you have evidence or know a cheater's name, to tell it to us privately.

Also fairly standard things such as normal record keeping people who have been banned before, who they tend to roll with, if someone's repeatedly evading staff for some reason, yknow

Fair enough, need more server mods then to look after the active servers wile the anti cheat is doing the bare minimum

Replays do often get disabled from time to time on officials, usually due to the devs tweaking things with them

We do get more people as often as we can, unfortunately a big issue right now is people using the moderator application as a complaint form or blatant and well known cheaters trying to get on staff. That said, no anticheat is perfect, and its a constant arms race. You can't block a cheat before it exists and whatnot

That is fact and a pain around it, as someone who’s in the position what is the progression like to be a server mod even as I can’t remember if I’ve looked into it or not, feel free to dm also if you don’t want anything said out of the ordinary in the chat

Right now we're only taking discord moderator applications, partly due to the issues of people solely applying for server admin and the let's say "interesting" quality of those apps. (read as: mostly known cheaters or people screaming "GIVE ME ADMIN ADMIN GIVE ME ADMIN GIVE")

Being a server admin is not something guaranteed to discord mods, and they have to actually want to do it. Some people only want to admin the discord, some that's all they have time for, but if you're unwilling to moderate the discord, your chances are exceedingly thin of ever being picked because its a responsibility for all of us

But yknow, its a volunteer position too. It's not like Punch has us chained to our desks forced to watch the servers all day; if you're not available, you're not obligated to do it. I've been away for like 2 weeks bc my sister gave me covid
