I mean, there is little incentive to not kill as a croc vs another croc. Food eventually becomes scare with more mouths to feed and for crocs. You will be needing more and more, with it becoming harder and harder to come by.

And you also get food for eating them by being part of your diet, helping you grow faster and giving you more of a chance/edge for the next deino you run into.

I think there's a big difference between members of species who have an unofficial truce and those who are actively cooperating. I've been in lots of situations where (as a carnivore) I've had a truce with other species, like a couple of tenos or whatever, simply because I'm not hungry and trying to kill them is just an unnecessary risk. Others come along and start being troublemakers, the tenos decide to fight them and hey, I'll help, because I want to eat the bodies afterwards

Yeah, the lack of low ping ones kinda sucks. I used to run a Syd based one a few years back but maintaining population was always a problem; At the time, there was a good NA West server which most people preferred (Aussies get good ping to NA but NA gets bad ping to Aus for some strange reason). In the end, it was too expensive to keep going and I shut it down.
I've been thinking about starting it up again but I don't think there's enough long term interest to justify

The main motivation at the time was more about active moderation and banning cheaters (this was before EAC was added, and hackers could do all kinds of extra things like speed hack & infinite stamina which can't be done anymore). These days hackers are pretty limited and EAC captures most of them
