I think it also may not work if your dino is in a tighter hole where it thinks the dino is moving, as the player model can't clip to the ground, so it gets seen as a free falling entity or similar

Ok, try and face one way, holding sprint and W, then snap camera behind you and go the other way, if your dino gets enough inertia built up in the cone, you eventually will seasaw out of it

The fish are good, it’s like goats and boars and all that

Nothing accidental about it. They had it in the patch notes that the spawn rate was reduced for deer, boar and goats. Players on the QA servers said they preferred the need for greater player interaction/combat. So that is why spawns are less prominent.
