There must be a debuff of dis-ease or hunger. For both herbi and carni when there are next to each other for a long time, that would totally annilate those mix packers. But as a pachy i often find refugee near stego when there's like 5 carno around. I think there are two types of mix packing, the ones that are peaceful, and the other ones that are chasing everybody down.
Truly a carno staying near raptor or pachy for like 5 minutes will see his hunger going down a lot, so it does for the herbi as they might be stressed by the presence of a carnivore around for too long.

peaceful mixpacking where people are just chilling not chasing everything down or protecting each other don't really bother me. Herbi/Herbi grouping has never bothered me especially since it was allowed in Legacy. But my carno friend can't jump and hasn't got lots of stam so I will negate that weakness by jumping/bone fracture is just bad playing in my opinion and shows that only way the carnivore knows how to eat is by cheating the system 🤷
