You're hearing the sub call since 50% is where sub-adult starts. To hear the adult call (it IS different from legacy if you are on the evrima branch lol) you need to be 70% and bigger

Fish are currently a little bugged and often fly out of the water, though a good place to find them would be in the large lakes (north lake, water access and the dam) best way to find them is land near by and listen for splashing, be very careful though as crocs will be all over those areas and will happily grab you
