Yea, the "in the mouth of the taco" is correct. And they spawn on the water surface swimming, when fish spawn. Tthey are easier to spot if you go deep in the water and look up, and they sometimes spawn on the shore of a lake or river, jumping somewhere.

How does anyone play as a ptera in this game? Somehow got lucky enough to live until the stage right before adult, and made it to the migration zone- only for nothing to spawn and i die of starvation. No fish, toads, turtle, chickens... nothing.

usually, best place to grow is water access, u got fish, toads and tacos nearby

idk why or is just my case, but i find that in some ponds, the fish spawning rate is lower (got no proof of that, just a sensation of mine)

and also, where deinos are, more fish appear, bc the bigger the number of players who eat them, the more fish it spawns, i believe
