There is no food in the ocean but if you fully eat at delta you can make it to the river easily even without waiting to eat at the pond (if there is no fish when you get there, wait a bit for a patrol zone to spawn). Theres hardly anymore food in the swamp than in the ocean tbh

I have been playing this game nonstop since I bought it on the 12th of November, but today is the first time I needed to take a break since I couldn't find any AI for a couple hours and everything I was doing on herbivores is sitting in mz / pz waiting for my hunger to drop. I hope that they increase AI spawn or make Herbivores interesting, as they now all feel the same.
