You'd have to either join their discord and ask for tips(like Asura has quite a few tips to try and find theirs), or just keep tinkering with your settings. Might even need to change the ping on steam itself.

There's a few ways.
I see you're in Asura discord. They have helpful tricks to try in the pinned messages of the need help channel. Those usually work(favoriting works best for me personally).
As for other servers, you can try asking for their IP address or direct links, in their discords, so you can favorite them and join that way.
Also tinkering with your max search results sometimes helps. Start at like 500. Then go up another 500 each refresh until it shows something.(either 500 or 50. I can't remember.)
There's also a setting in Steam settings where you can change the ping and that sometimes works(I'd need to look more into that and find it if that's what you'd wanna try).
Leaving search completely blank and just scrolling until you find a non Chinese one is also another way.

You'll need to delete you saved file. Usually fixed UI/keybind issues

Struggling is the new normal with Legacy unfortunately. It's not gonna change.
Luckily I don't have issues getting into the one server I play because they had little tricks to try. Favoriting their IPs helped me.

Some people gotta tinker with their search settings, adjusting max results after each search.

It's a pain in the butt to find servers. You just gotta keep messing with your search settings and server browser pings / minute.
Avoid any and all Chinese servers. Their server pop is a lie and you'll more than likely get hacked.
Luckily I only play on one server and they have some tricks to join their servers.

Servers in legacy are kinda bugged, but you can see all servers on this website https://topgameservers.net/theisle/1/players/desc if you want to join a server but it doesnt show up in the game you will need the server IP. To get a server IP click on server you want to join and then you will find the IP address as shown in the image. Then you need to right click on the isle in steam and click properties. Then find launch options and type +connect [server ip] (without brackets). Then start the game and after a while you should join selected server.

Nah lol. "If" they did anything, it was to fix a bug, which caused more bugs.

If you're on the legacy branch on the game and want to stay there you'll want to have a look in #🔧-legacy-troubleshooting-🔧 - there's multiple ways how to fix that issue in there. If you want to play on the active development branch however, that is evrima, you'll have to change to that branch via steam options. That's most likely the content you've seen about the game as this has been the main branch for 3 years now.

There are no "unlockable" dinos, some are simply unfinished and can only be accessed in the sandbox game mode or by having a server admin set you to be one. Different servers give access to sandbox dinos in different ways, so you'll have to ask the community you're on

I also recommend NEVER paying real money for these services, as there's many servers who do these things for free/fake currency

If you installed the game and hit play immediately, you'll only see legacy servers. If you want to play on the newest version of the game, you'll have to go into your steam library, right click on The Isle in your games bar, and select preferences. Then go to Betas, click on the "none" dropdown, and select Evrima from there. If you're trying to play on the Legacy servers (it's way easier to run on low end computers), and you're not seeing any servers- I'm sorry but I've never run into that problem, so I can't help you with that.

Asura has 3 V3, 1 Thenyaw, and 1 Testlvl servers on Legacy. The Thenyaw server doesn't get as populated by the others by a long shot, but it's a nice change now and then and I'll grow on that one.

Usually you have to direct connect to servers using their IP. If there's a specific one you're looking for it'd be a good idea to find their discord

I would say from the ones I have played on, do not play on Dry Reef, and New Beginnings are the best but I wouldn't recommend rule servers because they are overly complicated and just wishy-washy.

It is a headache for sure. I do not care for the herbivore rules on fighting or initiating or participating in defending. Like, most of the time the rules are vague like "Once you feel threatened," or "Once you believe they are too close to your nesting area/hatchlings,"

And it's like... if I can run up to them, they are too close, and you get in trouble for defending because you are a herbivore and showed aggression when you were not supposed to

But I personally feel like herbivores especially nesting ones would be aggressive and not let a carnivore in charging distance of a nest if possible.

But I digress.

From what I've heard, you'll have to directly connect to them using the server's IP. I'm not sure how to do it myself, but if your server has its own discord they'd probably be able to give you the IP and directions on how to use it

It's a public test of the next update to evrima! You can swap to that version if you'd like, but there's only two servers (200 total player slots) and it can be a bit unstable, or your saves could get wiped

Hordetesting has a ton of awesome improvements and bugfixes but it can be hard to get on a server during peak playtimes

You'd need to find an unofficial server to play. It's the default version of the game when you install isle. If you switched to Evrima and want to switch back to Legacy, then right click the Isle on your steam library > click properties > Beta > none

See if they'll give you their IP/direct connect +
In their discord. Then add it to favorites on steam and join that way. That's how I join Asura.

Yes and no.
Evrima has Deino, Ptera, Hipsi, Troodon, Beipi, and Tenonto.
Legacy does not.
Evrima has fewer dinos than Legacy.

How to have BOTH Evrima and Legacy Installed

1. Install Legacy: Steam > Library and right click The Isle > Properties > Betas and click NONE. This will automatically begin to download the Legacy branch

2. Go to The Isle folder: Steam >steamapps >common >The Isle

3. Rename the folder "The Isle - LEGACY" or whatever you prefer so you know which version is which

4. Open the renamed folder and go to TheIsle >Binaries >Win64. Right click in the folder and click New >Text Document. Rename the Text Document: steam_appid

5. Open the new text document you just made and write: 376210 and save the document.

6. Go back to you "The Isle - LEGACY" (or whatever you named it) and create a Short Cut of the The Isle application. From there you can drag the short-cut onto your Desktop and access Legacy directly from your Desktop. You can do the same for Evrima or you can just start up Evrima from Steam directly.

7. Steam should automatically install Evrima now, if it does not go to Steam >Library and right click The Isle >Properties >Betas and click Evrima. This will automatically begin to download Evrima

Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %localappdata% in there and open your %localappdata% folder.
Once opened: Find the folder TheIsle > Open that > delete the "Saved" folder inside it.

Yes legacy servers are still up. Official ones? No. But unofficial ones, yes.
The search is broken. You can try to tinker with your search settings but best way is to join through favoriting a servers IP.

yup. thats the new normal for Legacy search unfortunately. Some get lucky and can still see normal servers but.. majority cant.
Best way would be to join the discords of some Legacy servers(can check #unofficial-isle-communities or i can just send you discord invites to the ones im in).
Theres like one major no rules server left(its EU if that interests you), and theres still a few rule servers that are populated from what ive heard.

Just make sure a random empty space doesn't pop up at the front. One likes to sneak in after you paste and causes an error.
