Prehistoric Planet Episode 4 spoilers: ||Ornithomimids are my favorite dinosaurs of all time and my jaw dropped when that sky-down shot showed a big herd of feathered bipeds with long necks. They were so SHAGGY and even though I thought their color pattern was a bit jarring, I was so excited to see them in the first place! I hope we get to see a herd of gallimimus running sometime soon…
Olorotitan is one of my favorite hadrosaurs and oh my god the entire sequence with them was so beautiful. The scenery, the sounds they made, and how precious their parent-offspring relationships were. And then the sudden shift to such a horrifying scene, from paradise to hell itself. I’ve never really thought about the possibility of an unending plague of mosquitos being able to kill juvenile dinosaurs from the sheer amount of blood they consume alone, and it was actually disturbing to watch the olorotitan unable to fight back or flee the way they might be able to against a predator, and to instead just… collapse and succumb to the death cloud. So then I of course felt so relieved and happy to see the little one pull through and reunite with its mother and touch their bills together!
I was grinning from ear-to-ear for the entirety of the forest fire part. The troodontid looks beautiful, and I was already so impressed with the dromeosaurs at the beginning! They made every raptor look so good in this series, but the troodontid is by far the best of them, and one of the best-looking animals so far altogether. And to have it deliberately spread the fire to flush out prey animals just like modern firehawks was such a brilliant idea!
The antarctopelta were ADORABLE, and I’m so happy nodosaurs - also one of my favorite types of dinosaurs - got some focus! The cave scene was so beautiful and it felt so nice that the abandoned brother found such a beautiful territory to call his own! 
And finally, the hunt at the end was epic. Feathered tyrannosaurs look so good, and the way both they and the pachyrhinosaurs moved was so satisfying to watch. I love how they chose to begin the episode with the very end of winter, then moved through the months of plenty before finally closing on such a brutal reentry to winter, the unrelenting blizzard making the final hunt so much more intense.||
