There is an issue with the hypothesis.

Gills are built on gill arches, and in tetrapods gill arches have evolved into throat structures like the larynx and hyoid bones and whatnot

so godzilla at some point of its evolution has either undergone severe neoteny (and so an ancestor could have had sharklike gills, albeit as a tadpole thing, either for a section of its lifecycle or for the entirety), or godzilla could as well be a heavily derived cartilaginous fish (though a bit of a stretch as its species appeared in some time during the permian)

godzilla is a rotifer

also tbf godzilla probably aint a reptile, if he does have tetrapod affinities he probably lies outside the crown group alongside things like ichthyostega and hynerpeton
