they're named after the region they're hosted in. So if you live in the US using the NA servers would give you better ping than EU or AU servers for example

There are no other differences between the officials aside from ping based on where you live and where the server is hosted

Yes, you read that correctly! I was obsessing over the low frequency sounds that a T-Rex must've made that made your whole body shake and asked myself if I could somehow manage to do those sounds with my mouth/throat!!! All "vocal" sounds you hear were initially made by me (pitched down and bass boosted) ofc except for the added stomps and background noise :D

Where I live, you need licensing. Finding good hunting territory can be a challenge, takes a lot of gas to get out to them since they need super open places without trees even.

They require specific living requirements, she has an 8x12 shed she lives in, and this time of year she lives indoors with us on a perch in her own room.

To fly them you need radio or GPS telemetry otherwise they can be easy to lose. This can be as expensive as a gaming rig.

Food is probably 40 or $50 a month minimum

ah I'm not too much into books. I'm kinda wondering though how can you write a book about dinosaurs? It's like reading a book about martial arts - it's all about the visual.

I'm looking at the second movie and man, for a 90s movie it is very well done in terms of social commentary

Like Schrodinger's cat, JP isn't about the dinosaurs, they're a means to an end. That being said, it is a pretty good read

||I understand that looking at the second movie. It is more of a social commentary about wild life and human.. well.. I can't say it's only about greed but the feeling of superiority in the food chain, than the actual dinosaurs themselves. Like for example I love that they treat the dinosaurs as something that wants to survive and hunt and isn't like a weird affectionate thing. Also the fact that, unlike in Avatar, there isn't a good and bad party, but both the hunters(the company in the Avatar movie) and the scientists are a problem. I was rooting more often for the hunters than the scientists because of the latter group got many people killed because of their weird sense of justice. Hunters had everything under control but got complacent by thinking they were only humans around. I'm all about human exceptionalism so if people get killed because of someone tries to save a creature, especially one that would continue on to endanger more people, then you're just as bad if not worse than the people who want to exploit the dinosaurs.||

||Depends on the view of exploitation of course. I very much subscribe to the idea one of the scientists called out there, that the dinosaurs don't have rights for their freedom because they were brought back from extinction and there shouldn't be a "oh they are wild animals and want to live free" like we think about modern wild animals being put into zoos. Even now I don't think that putting animals in zoo is exploitative towards them as for one it's a nature reserve to protect the animals and if they are given acceptable space to live or given a good life then it's fine. I mean I won't go into details but now being older and watching movies about this wild life thing it really makes you see stuff from a different perspective. Even the moment where one of the characters gets attacked by Stegosauruses because she accidentally scared them and the other guy refusing to shoot them because "they are protecting their baby" and the other dude answering "as am I", is one of those points that you can see from different perspectives based on what you value in life I guess. One could say that humans encroach on the dinosaur territory but in reality we have just as much of a claim to live everywhere we want as they do because we are also part of nature. It is us vs them, it has and is always been about survival, especially in the context of them being man-made creatures and will always be more expandable than one would see a modern wild animal.||

I feel like I wrote an entire essay here as I ran out of character space for free user lol but I just felt like I would have seen this movie very differently based on my life experience and my values and age

I wonder if the books will be very different from the movies. If they are then maybe I'll pick one of one day but if it is like very similar then meh 😄 It's like reading LOTR books after watching the movies: way too similar to want to go through all the effort reading all the stuff I know already about. Especially when Jackson made some very good changes to the story that I prefer even

He also doesn't seem to know that human gameplay has been planned from day 1, and guns will not be OP because the devs agree losing your dinosaur like that would suck. The current word is any guns that powerful would require similar effort to getting a dinosaur that powerful and even at that point ammunition is precious and you're not going dinosaur hunting, it's for defense.
On the topic of guns in game as well, guns are loud and stinky. Sure shoot a gun for fun and ring the dinner bell for every carnivore in hearing range

On average it takes no longer than 10-15 minutes for someone to take an egg. Not over an hour

Nesting barely takes any resources, it is not hard to get more food

Yes stamina can be a little hard to understand which should be addressed, but the stamina system itself is good

I hate all three of them. First is the least offensive but is still extremely guilty of missing INSANE potential and not getting what this was about as well as having some huge plot holes.

Kingdom is UNSUSTAINABLE plot wise and there's problems with the story literally every few minutes. And then Dominion for some reason forgets about its dinosaurs and doesn't make a plot about them, while simultaneously doesn't have a conclusion which is such a vital and basic part of a story that we are taught in primary school
