Any suggestions for animal of the day?
You decide, I just gave you suggestions
Alr, ill go with a salamander since we already did a frog 2 days ago
👍
Glass frogs.
Glass. Frogs.
Too late
First Animal species of the day (islecord) :
Tiger salamander
These salamanders usually grow to a length of 6–8 in (15–20 cm) with a lifespan of around 12–15 years.[4] They are characterized by having markings varying in color on the back of their head, body, and tail.[5] The coloring of these spots range from brownish yellow to greenish yellow, while the rest of their back is black or dark brown.[3] They have short snouts, thick necks, strong legs, and lengthy tails.[6] Tiger salamanders are a sexually dimorphic species, as the males are larger in body size, as well as have longer and higher tails than females.[7] Their diet consists largely of small insects, snails, slugs, frogs, and worms, although it is not rare for an adult to turn cannibalistic and consume its own kind.[5][8] Cannibalism in these salamanders can almost always be traced back to a large volume of competing predators and lack of prey in the area.[9] If the opportunity presents itself, tiger salamanders will even feed on other smaller salamander species, lizards, snakelets (baby snakes), and newborn mice.[8][10]
On February 2, 2005, Representative Bob Biggins introduced a bill to make the tiger salamander the official state amphibian of Illinois and to make the painted turtle the official state reptile. The bill was signed into law by Governor Rod Blagojevich on July 19, 2005.[11]
Tiger salamanders habitats range from woodlands crowded with conifer and deciduous trees to grassy open fields.[3] These amphibians are secretive creatures who spend most of their lives underground in burrows, making them difficult to spot.[4] One significant requirement these salamanders need to thrive is loose soil for burrowing.[12] Tiger salamanders are almost entirely terrestrial as adults, and usually only return to the water to breed. The ideal breeding condition for tiger salamanders ranges from wetlands, such as cattle ponds and vernal pools, to flooded swamps.[5] The colonization of wetlands by tiger salamanders has been positively related to the area of the wetlands.[13] This species is most commonly found on the Atlantic coast from New York down to Florida.[14] They are known, however, to be the widest ranging species of salamander in North America and have been found in smaller populations from coast to coast.[6] Ambystoma tigrinum populations occurring in northern and eastern regions of the United States are thought to be native populations as evidence from a study uncovered the species in these regions seem to be from relict populations. The species which occur on the west coast of the United States are not necessarily native occurring to the region and occur as a result of introduction for sport fishing bait, which has resulted in hybridization.[15] Though tiger salamanders are not indicators of an ecosystem, they are good indicators of a healthy environment because they need good moist soil to burrow in. But pond disturbance, invasive fish, and road construction threaten the annual population.[16]

Chonky boi
Bobbit worm pls next. D: They're cute, I promise.

I mean, u cant call them detritivores anymore lol. But ill let sleep know 👍
I think they dont act like cleanup crew
tell me more i love learning about weird little creatures
They basicly paralize whatever they hunt, like small fish etc. Waiting untill something passes by their burrow and ambush it. The venom thats injected paralyzes the prey and its said that it can do permanent damage to nerves i think
Their venom was quite dangerous thats all i remember about, idk if its that dangerous to humans too
0: I didn't know those
They're super cute.
Ok but what about garden eels
GARDEN EELS WOOOOOO
Second Animal species of the day (islecord) :
bobbit-worm
Eunice aphroditois is a benthic bristle worm of warm marine waters, found in the Atlantic Ocean and the Indo-Pacific.[1][2] It ranges in length from less than 10 cm (4 in) to 3 m (10 ft).[3] Its iridescent cuticle produces a wide range of colors, from black to purple. This species is an ambush-predator; it hunts by burrowing its whole body in soft sediment on the ocean floor and waiting until its antennae detect prey.[4] It then strikes with its sharp mouthparts.[5] It may also be found among coral reefs.
Eunice aphroditois is commonly known as the sand-striker or bobbit-worm;[6][7][8][9] the latter name is from the John and Lorena Bobbitt case.[10]
These ambush predators have no eyes and five antennae on their head that are used to sense prey.[11] The body is covered by a hard exoskeleton.[12] The mandibles can be retracted inside the body and are responsible for striking and stunning prey; they are capable of snapping some prey in half.[13] Typically, E. aphroditois ranges from deep purple to black, along with metallic colors. The largest known specimen on record reached 299 centimeters (9.81 ft) in length,[3] making it the longest known member of the polychaete class. Despite these great lengths, the worms are slim, with the body only about 25.5 millimeters (1.00 in) wide.
This species may be found prowling among the prey-rich environment of coral reefs, where its coloration allows it to blend in and its slim body enables it to hunt in tight places.[13] It inhabits a wide range of other habitats,[14] particularly sandy and muddy sediments, as well as around rocks and sponges.[13] It has been recorded at depths of up to 95 meters.[7]
Eunice aphroditois senses passing prey with its antennae, seizes the prey with its mouth, and drags it into its burrow. To reduce predation risk, some fish engage in mobbing behavior, during which a group of fish will direct jets of water into the worm's burrow to disorient it.[4] This species is not only considered to be a carnivore, feeding on a plethora of species of fish, but it can also be considered an herbivore/omnivore, feeding on algae, as well as a decomposer, feeding on dead and decaying matter.[15]
Ancestral species may have exhibited the same hunting-behavior twenty million years ago, according to fossil-records.[16]

@hexed sage Im seeing diff types of Hotspot VPN
and also it is a must I download from MS store or can I just download from google?
Hotspot Shield, blue logo.
I mean you could, but it's generally safer to use microsoft.
kk
Think there's a few malicous ones out there
you're a nice help
I hope it works
@hexed sage im confused for some reason, which country should I use?
Any. It does not matter as long as it's another location.
At least it shouldn't matter
It keeps saying that I should use premium benefits
There will be a skip button button somewhere
something along the lines of that
iirc it says "Continue with Basic"
it's not showing skip
Provide me with a screenshot
kk
You can only choose specific countries that are provided with the basic plan
@hexed sage
give me some
I chose UK for this one
I wouldn't know I rarely use a VPN as they don't really do much for you but change your location.
Also click the arrow.
I believe it's a premium one, you can only select the ones that don't have locks or something next to them
lemme send u a ss
the ones with out the arrows?
Select the US
If they became a premium VPN. Then you can use ProtonVPN.
I thought Hotspot had a big button to turn it on and it did it automatically.
The arrows only indicate a submenu as far as I'm aware.
yes it has that
when I click it says I have to connect to a network first
Are you not using internet?
I am
This should be automatic
Ethernet/Wifi is internet so makes little difference asides from speeds and some other stuff I guess.
like
Im using Ethernet rn right
I click the button to connect and it's saying connect error
Does it say automatic in the top right corner?
yup
That's your symbol right in the bottom right corner?
Go ahead and just get protonvpn. I have not used hotspot in ages so I wouldn't be able to troubleshoot it for ya
ya
@hexed sage is Proton on MS store?
No clue
should I create a desktop Shortcut?
That is your own choice not mine
now I can just sign in?
Yes.
You're very much welcome.
wanna be friends? @hexed sage
I'm very sorry, but I am usually busy. :(
I don't usually accept friend requests. I apologize.

and it has growth, which can be slowed down, sped up, or outright removed in configs

First Animal species of the day (islecord) :
Western gorilla
The western gorilla (Gorilla gorilla) is a great ape found in Africa, one of two species of the hominid genus Gorilla. Large and robust with males weighing around 168 kilograms (370 lb), the hair is significantly lighter in color than that of the eastern gorilla, (Gorilla beringei), and geographically isolated from them in a region at the midwest of the African continent. It is the second largest living primate after the eastern gorilla. Two subspecies are recognised for the western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) is found in most of West Africa while the Cross River gorilla (Gorilla gorilla diehli) is limited to a smaller range in the north at the border of Cameroon and Nigeria. Both subspecies are listed Critically Endangered.
A formal description of the species was provided by Thomas Savage in 1847, allying the new species to an earlier description of the chimpanzee as Troglodytes gorilla in a group of eastern simians he referred to as "orangs". The author selected the specific epithet for the name given by Hanno to "wild men" he had noted on the east coast of Africa, presumed by Savage to be a species of orang.[4] The population is recognised as two subspecies:
Western gorillas are generally lighter colored than eastern gorillas. Western gorillas have black, dark grey or dark brown-grey hair with a brownish forehead. Males average 167 cm (5 ft 5.7 in) although reaching a height up to 176 cm (5 ft 9.3 in), with males having an average weight of 168 kilograms (370 lb) and females weighing 58 to 72 kilograms (128 to 159 lb).[7] Captive western gorillas average 157 kg (346 lb) in males and 80 kg (176 lb) in females.[8] Another source[which?] describes the weight of wild male western lowland gorillas as 146 kg (322 lb).[9] The Cross River gorilla differs from the western lowland gorilla in both skull and tooth dimensions.
Western gorillas live in groups that vary in size from two to twenty individuals. Such groups are composed of at least one male, several females and their offspring. A dominant male silverback heads the group, with younger males usually leaving the group when they reach maturity. Females transfer to another group before breeding, which begins at eight to nine years old; they care for their young infants for the first three to four years of their lives. The interval between births, therefore, is long, which partly explains the slow population growth rates that make the western gorilla so vulnerable to poaching. Due to the long gestation time, long period of parental care, and infant mortality, a female gorilla will only give birth to an offspring that survives to maturity every six to eight years. Western gorillas are long-lived and may survive for as long as 40 years in the wild. A group's home range may be as large as 30 km2 (12 sq mi), but is not actively defended. Wild western gorillas are known to use tools.[10]

Gorilla o:
I think distant horizons wasn't compatible with one of my mods and kept causing crashes
Also running on a nvidia 1070 so can't handle render distance over 20 without severe fps drop
That's weird? I've never had that problem even when running it with shaders(not on purpose mind you, wasn't paying attention)
I usually just keep render distance at 10
U really don't need anymore than that to play the game, the rest is just for sake of looking good

I main Valkyrie lol
Still my favourite Story from Outlands
I bought that skin for her so fast.
I know that viper is her dad, probably made me like her more
Same, the viper helmet goes hard
Mhmm
I really hope there is a chance for t3 now, there was added something in the code of apex that mirrors the release date of t1, t2 and apex
So maybe something is happening
The janitor is making t3
All the apex predators, except ash lol
Oh and that first guy the scourge
Can’t remember his name
I still don't know how Ash came back after I've crushed her to atoms
There is like 2 or 3 comics about it
Oh yeah
Also
You don't have to do a finisher at em boss fights but respawn assume that everyone did in an animation
And Ash's backstory is kinda tragic
I mean, I definitely did the finishers
She is kinda evil before she became a robot too tho
She got a lot from doing it if i remember correctly
She did have a military unit later, even as human so
She got to live but trapped behind the mind of a nihilist robot
Deserved ig lol
Yeah
Her voice lines in apex are kind of messed up too
Sometimes real Ash would say something and then the similacrum would take over
Yeah kinda like how revenant didn’t know he was a simulacrum and then he got that glass shard in him and saw all his memories and stuff, and now he’s being controlled again by silva, or at least he’s trying to get full control of revenant
Mhmm
No

Ps. Thank you everyone for the overwhelming support on the Jurassic World animations!
Our dog has been barking and scratching up our back door every night. He has been doing this for days so I sat with him last night to find the issue. I snapped a flash pic of the backdoor when he barked and captured this. Be VERY careful outside because this does NOT look normal!

First Animal species of the day (islecord) :
Christmas Island red crab
The Christmas Island red crab (Gecarcoidea natalis) is a species of land crab that is endemic to Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the Indian Ocean.[1][2] Although restricted to a relatively small area, an estimated 43.7 million adult red crabs once lived on Christmas Island alone,[3] but the accidental introduction of the yellow crazy ant is believed to have killed about 10–15 million of these in recent years.[4] Christmas Island red crabs make an annual mass migration to the sea to lay their eggs in the ocean.[5] Although its population is under great assault by the ants,[6] as of 2020 the red crab had not been assessed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and it was not listed on their Red List.[7] The crab's annual mass migration to the sea for spawning is described as an "epic" event. Millions emerge at the same time, halting road traffic and covering the ground in a thick carpet of crabs.[8]
Christmas Island red crabs are large crabs with the carapace measuring up to 116 millimetres (4.6 in) wide.[9] The claws are usually of equal size, unless one becomes injured or detached, in which case the limb will regenerate. The male crabs are generally larger than the females, while adult females have a much broader abdomen (only apparent above 3 years of age) and usually have smaller claws.[9] Bright red is their most common color, but some can be orange or the much rarer purple.
Like most land crabs, red crabs use gills to breathe and must take great care to conserve body moisture. Although red crabs are diurnal, they usually avoid direct sunlight so as not to dry out, and, despite lower temperatures and higher humidity, they are almost completely inactive at night.[9] Red crabs also dig burrows to shelter themselves from the sun and will usually stay in the same burrow through the year; during the dry season, they will cover the entrance to the burrow to maintain a higher humidity inside, and will stay there for 3 months until the start of the wet season. Apart from the breeding season, red crabs are solitary animals and will defend their burrow from intruders.[10][9]
For most of the year, red crabs can be found within Christmas Islands' forests. Each year they migrate to the coast to breed; the beginning of the wet season (usually October/November) allows the crabs to increase their activity and stimulates their annual migration.[3] The timing of their migration is also linked to the phases of the moon.[5] During this migration, red crabs abandon their burrows and travel to the coast to mate and spawn. This normally requires at least a week, with the male crabs usually arriving before the females. Once on the shore, the male crabs excavate burrows, which they must defend from other males. Mating occurs in or near the burrows. Soon after mating the males return to the forest while the females remain in the burrow for another two weeks. During this period they lay their eggs and incubate them in their abdominal brood pouch to facilitate their development.[3] At the end of the incubation period the females leave their burrows and release their eggs into the ocean, precisely at the turn of the high tide during the last quarter of the moon.[3][5] The females then return to the forest while the crab larvae spend another 3–4 weeks at sea before returning to land as juvenile crabs.[3]

this song is NOT MINE ITS " Against The Kitchen Floor " by Will Wood !!!!!!!!!! AND THE CLIPS ARENT MINE EITHER I JUST EDITED THEM TOGETHER anyways i hope yawle enjoy 👍
No, party animals is hilarious. I genuinely dont get all the complaints on steam
Most of the complaining and bad reviews were from the confusion of the game having offline play
The game is actually really fun and I hope they add more maps in the future. (Or even a steam workshop)
Me,kingmkg, and a few other islecorders have been having a blast on party animals.
I mean it was kinda obvious to me that it wouldnt have offline play tbh. The only complaints i can understand are the ones about not having australian servers etc
True
Me too man i pre ordered it lol. But tbh for firdt release i thknk there are a lot of maps
although more are always welcome lol
I pre ordered aswell
The maps we have rn are getting a bit stale though. I think I've already played every map at least like 10 times
Ye but u know the thing about these games is that u shouldnt play them all the time for long periods cuz u will get bored with stuff like maps characters or even the game itself
.
👆🏼 All the species @sullen merlin done while i was away i replied to his messages to add the profile to the over all count of the species
Thank you Goblino 👍🏼👍🏼

By putting this in the search bar you will get a more accurate number of the animals
Meanwhile if you put this in the search bar you will not get an accurate information since because anyone can say “the sentence in the image ” in their messages and its adds up to the overall number of messages 👇🏼
👍

Yeb rivers gotta go to the ocean
Everyone once in a while the lagoon it is connected to is drained naturally or by man-made processes.
do you think the video is cut or that guy actually created like a lil river lmao
That trench did indeed turn into the little river over the course of a few hours.
thats hilarious
There's a lagoon that's inland that drains into the ocean manually and or naturally every once in a while.

First Animal species of the day (islecord) :
Spotted garden eel
The spotted garden eel (Heteroconger hassi) is a heteroconger belonging to the family Congridae. It is native to the Indo-Pacific.
Range :
The spotted garden eel is a small fish that can reach a maximum length of 40 centimetres (16 in; 1.3 ft). Its body is anguiform (eel-like): long, thin, with a circular cross-section (14 millimetres (0.55 in) in average diameter) and a head of the same diameter as the body. The head appears shortened because the large mouth is close to the also large eyes. Nostrils are small and positioned in the center of the upper lip.
The body is white and covered with many small black spots. The spotted garden eel has three larger distinctive black spots; the first identifies the gills opening and the position of the tiny pectoral fins, the second is located in the central part of the body and the third one surrounds the anus. Juveniles have a very thin black body
The spotted garden eel is widespread throughout the tropical and subtropical waters of the Indo-Pacific from the eastern coasts of Africa including the Red Sea to Polynesia, and south from Japan to New Caledonia.[4]
It lives exclusively in variously sized colonies on sandy bottoms that are exposed to currents, at depths from 15 to 45 meters.[5] It digs a burrow from which emerges about a third of its body pointing their mouths towards the underwater current to catch drifting food
As in other heteroconger species, individuals rarely leave their burrow once it is finished, but will move burrows closer together during breeding season until contact between partners is possible. Fertilized eggs and juveniles have a planktonic period before reaching sufficient size to start living in the substrate.

Meerkats are cool
Shame on you sleepy, shame on you
hes sleepy
Numbats are awesome.
I hate webmps
Fun fact did u know meerkats commit more homicides in relation to humans
u are not wrong
I honestly feel bad for snakes. Like they can barely do anything in most cases
Not even only in matchups against meerkats but just in general
I use to watch documetaries on meerkats and more times then you think the snake gets away unharmed or with lil nips
sorry i was driving
👍🏼
even bit one of the the kats and they ended up dieing
Ur on thin ice sleepy

I mean venomous snakes are mote likely to survive because they are more dangerous and more feared. But honestly fear is the best defense a snake has. If something really wants to kill a snake it probably can
Unless its a super constrictor
Yeah especially a group of meerkats but I guess it depends on the snakes energy and health beforehand bc if it keep moving and striking when they get close they can get away, thats the way ive seen it done
In africa venom doesnt even do the trick as there are meerkats and honey badgers lol
Ye but thats also because meerkats arent completely immune to the venom. A snake can only attack a single target and is even bad at fighting back cuz it can only bite. It has no real bite strength. When it gets surrounded they can only hope the thing attacking them fears ut and/or backs off
yeah which is what ive seen, I think the only case of a meerkat dieing to snake is when they are in bad health to begin with
Tbf if a snake gets surrounded by a group of meerkats or other mongoose whatever they probably mock bite most of the time. Snakes usually want to preserve their venom. They certainly dont have enough for the whole group
Unless ur a black mamba, they dont give a f about preserving venom
First Animal species of the day (173) :
Meerkat / (Suricata suricatta)
The meerkat (Suricata suricatta) or suricate is a small mongoose found in southern Africa. It is characterised by a broad head, large eyes, a pointed snout, long legs, a thin tapering tail, and a brindled coat pattern. The head-and-body length is around 24–35 cm (9.4–13.8 in), and the weight is typically between 0.62 and 0.97 kg (1.4 and 2.1 lb). The coat is light grey to yellowish-brown with alternate, poorly-defined light and dark bands on the back. Meerkats have foreclaws adapted for digging and have the ability to thermoregulate to survive in their harsh, dry habitat. Three subspecies are recognised.
Range :
Meerkats are highly social, and form packs of two to 30 individuals each that occupy home ranges around 5 km2 (1.9 sq mi) in area. There is a social hierarchy—generally dominant individuals in a pack breed and produce offspring, and the nonbreeding, subordinate members provide altruistic care to the pups. Breeding occurs around the year, with peaks during heavy rainfall; after a gestation of 60 to 70 days, a litter of three to seven pups is born.
Commonly living in arid, open habitats with little woody vegetation, meerkats occur in southwestern Botswana, western and southern Namibia, and northern and western South Africa; the range barely extends into southwestern Angola. With no significant threats to the population, the meerkat is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Meerkats are widely depicted in television, movies and other media.
The meerkat is a small mongoose of slim build characterised by a broad head, large eyes, a pointed snout, long legs, a thin tapering tail and a brindled coat pattern. It is smaller than most other mongooses except the dwarf mongooses (genus Helogale) and possibly Galerella species.[3] The head-and-body length is around 24–35 cm (9.4–13.8 in), and the weight has been recorded to be between 0.62–0.97 kg (1.4–2.1 lb) without much variation between the sexes (though some dominant females can be heavier than the rest).[3][12] The soft coat is light grey to yellowish brown with alternate, poorly-defined light and dark bands on the back. Individuals from the southern part of the range tend to be darker. The guard hairs, light at the base, have two dark rings and are tipped with black or silvery white; several such hairs
The meerkat occurs in southwestern Botswana, western and southern Namibia, northern and western South Africa; the range barely extends into southwestern Angola.[2] It lives in areas with stony, often calcareous ground in a variety of arid, open habitats with little woody vegetation. It is common in savannahs, open plains and rocky areas beside dry rivers in biomes such as the Fynbos and the Karoo, where the mean yearly rainfall is below 600 mm (24 in). The average precipitation reduces to 100 to 400 mm (3.9 to 15.7 in) towards the northwestern areas of the range. It prefers areas with short grasses and shrubs common in velds, such as camelthorn in Namibia and Acacia in the Kalahari. It is absent from true deserts, montane regions and forests.[3][12][22] Population densities vary greatly between places, and are significantly influenced by predators and rainfall.[51] For instance, a study in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park,
Skull :
Meerkats are generally tame animals.[3] However, they are unsuitable as a pet as they can be aggressive and have a strong, ferret-like odour.[54] In South Africa meerkats are used to kill rodents in rural households and lepidopterans in farmlands. Meerkats can transmit rabies to humans, but yellow mongooses appear to be more common vectors. It has been suggested that meerkats may even limit the spread of rabies by driving out yellow mongooses from their burrows; meerkats are generally not persecuted given their economic significance in crop protection, though they may be killed due to rabies control measures to eliminate yellow mongooses. Meerkats can also spread tick-borne diseases.[3]
Meerkats have been widely portrayed in movies, television and other media. A popular example is Timon from the Lion King franchise,

Man i wanna go to africa
Why Meerkat
it isnt a kat (cat)

Dutch name for this animal
Germanic
I just googled and you named it after the dutch name for a monkey
Meerkats are The kats of the Mortal Kombat universe
Im confused
Meerkats are mini honey badgers prove me wrong
(Cercopithecus)
Actually no i take it back.
How many germanic countries use kat?
Belgium, netherlands only thinkk
No
Germany says katze
Norway and sweden uses kat too
so the english named the Meerkat after the dutch name for Cercopithecus wich is a type of monkey
for some reason
dont know the dutch word but the german name for the monkey is Meerkatze wich directly translates to sea and katze wich directly translates to Cat
Thats not germanic i think
Hmm isee
Considering this the dutch name for the type of Monkey probably is Meerkat wich means that the english Meerkat is just the exact same for something completely different
??
this is needed for context
Or I mean Norway uses Katt but whatever
Kat is not monkey in dutch at all?
I might not get what u mean tho
sorry was a bit too harsh
I mean i usually dont use things like a "," but thats kinda hard to read without those lol
soo the Dutch named a Type of monkey Meerkat
and the english adapted that name for well, Meerkats
I think its just the word monkey thats throwing me off
Ohhhh
Speedy boys 👆🏼
I get it now. I know that animal but i didnt see why u brought it up but i get it now lol mb
Inbred boys
gepard(cheetah)
U know its true lmao
It is
They are becoming less inbred over time
Just give them few hundred years
I mean ye but no
I won’t be alive then
They already extinct then man
I just checked and wtf my theory wasnt right
FOR SOME GOD DAMN REASONS
the english made a completely different name from the dutch name who made something completely different from the original germanic languages
English and dutch are sometimes just too Insane for me
I wish i wasnt right, please prove wrong world
I swear if i live to the day where i witness the extinction of like lions, polar bears and stuff i might literally unalive myself
Sadly the world is at our mercy, and it isn’t looking so hot rn
People only care about money man it aint funny
Imagine a world without elephants 😭💀
I know. It isn’t funny
It’s sad
Like even tho its sad if it happens but i could t care less about some random ant species going extinct but like elephants, rhinos, tigers nah man i cant
Yeb
The world isnt at our mercy
A few of the lifeforms currently existing are at our mercy
Sadly these few are the „bigger“ ones
Lets hope people all over the world become less braindead and stop voting for people like bolsenaro who are like frick ur amazone i see dollar signs in the trees
Yeah apparently theres only a 20% chance cheetahs breed in captivity so rn their only hope is conserving them in the wild
How are iranean cheetah populations nowaday?
or whatever they called in english
Asian cheetah?
Population still sucks

not good I think, they refused to give cheetahs to India for Repopulation So must be pretty low
Ye, i think they actually resulted to bringing african cheetahs to india. Only recent news about asian cheetahs ive found was a male dying somwhere earlier this year to kidney failure. Still only less than a hundred or something
Yeah cheetahs from Namibia and more planned to relocate from South Africa every year it seems.

Sad they cant get the asian cheetahs maybe india couldve supported the conservation better but if the african cheetahs benefit the ecosystem why not
Maybe if they get can get a stable african cheetah population, iran might be willing to give a few cheetahs for diversity. reintroducing a species often leads to many dying so I can understand Iran not wanting to give off the few they have left.
I mean ye but wouldnt that risk the 2 subspecies mating and resulting in hybrids. Idk if thatd good, bad or neither
I mean there is no risk since both are the same species
Its just like humans :
A white man can marry an Asian woman
it feels really bad I'll be 50 something someday and be talking to kids and telling them about elephants and they'll be like "no way that sounds so dumb"
Dont say that
hopefully im lying
what does this mean can anyone explain?

First Animal species of the day (174) :
Human / (Homo sapiens)
Humans, or modern humans (Homo sapiens), are the most common and widespread species of primate. A great ape characterized by their hairlessness, bipedalism, and high intelligence, humans have a large brain and resulting cognitive skills that enable them to thrive in varied environments and develop complex societies and civilizations. Humans are highly social and tend to live in complex social structures composed of many cooperating and competing groups, from families and kinship networks to political states. As such, social interactions between humans have established a wide variety of values, social norms, languages, and rituals, each of which bolsters human society. The desire to understand and influence phenomena has motivated humanity's development of science, technology, philosophy, mythology, religion, and other frameworks of knowledge. Humans in fact study themselves, through such domains as anthropology, social science, history, psychology and medicine.
Range :
Although some scientists equate the term "humans" with all members of the genus Homo, in common usage it generally refers to Homo sapiens, the only extant member. Other members of the genus Homo are known as archaic humans. Anatomically modern humans emerged around 300,000 years ago in Africa, evolving from Homo heidelbergensis or a similar species and migrating out of Africa, gradually replacing or interbreeding with local populations of archaic humans. For most of their history, humans were nomadic hunter-gatherers. Humans began exhibiting behavioral modernity about 160,000–60,000 years ago. The Neolithic Revolution, which began in Southwest Asia around 13,000 years ago (and separately in a few other places), saw the emergence of agriculture and permanent human settlement. As populations became larger and denser, forms of governance developed within and between communities, and a large number of civilizations have risen and fallen. Humans have continued to expand, with a global population of over 8 billion as of 2023.
Humans are omnivorous, capable of consuming a wide variety of plant and animal material, and have used fire and other forms of heat to prepare and cook food since the time of Homo erectus. Humans can survive for up to eight weeks without food and several days without water. Humans are generally diurnal, sleeping on average seven to nine hours per day. Childbirth is dangerous, with a high risk of complications and death. Often, both the mother and the father provide care for their children, who are helpless at birth.
Until about 12,000 years ago, all humans lived as hunter-gatherers.[44][45] The Neolithic Revolution (the invention of agriculture) first took place in Southwest Asia and spread through large parts of the Old World over the following millennia.[46] It also occurred independently in Mesoamerica (about 6,000 years ago),[47] China,[48][49] Papua New Guinea,[50] and the Sahel and West Savanna regions of Africa.[51][52][53] Access to food surplus led to the formation of permanent human settlements, the domestication of animals and the use of metal tools for the first time in history. Agriculture and sedentary lifestyle led to the emergence of early civilizations.
An urban revolution took place in the 4th millennium BCE with the development of city-states, particularly Sumerian cities located in Mesopotamia.[57] It was in these cities that the earliest known form of writing, cuneiform script, appeared around 3000 BCE.[58] Other major civilizations to develop around this time were Ancient Egypt and the Indus Valley Civilisation.[59] They eventually traded with each other and invented technology such as wheels, plows and sails.[60][61][62][63] Astronomy and mathematics were also developed and the Great Pyramid of Giza was built.[64][65][66] There is evidence of a severe drought lasting about a hundred years that may have caused the decline of these civilizations,[67] with new ones appearing in the aftermath. Babylonians came to dominate Mesopotamia while others,[68] such as the Poverty Point culture, Minoans and the Shang dynasty, rose to prominence in new areas.[69][70][71] The Late Bronze Age collapse around 1200 BCE resulted in the disappearance of a number of civilizations and the beginning of the Greek Dark Ages.[72][73] During this period iron started replacing bronze, leading to the Iron Age.
The early modern period in Europe and the Near East (c. 1450–1800) began with the final defeat of the Byzantine Empire, and the rise of the Ottoman Empire.[94] Meanwhile, Japan entered the Edo period,[95] the Qing dynasty rose in China[96] and the Mughal Empire ruled much of India.[97] Europe underwent the Renaissance, starting in the 15th century,[98] and the Age of Discovery began with the exploring and colonizing of new regions.[99] This includes the British Empire expanding to become the world's largest empire[100] and the colonization of the Americas.[101] This expansion led to the Atlantic slave trade[102] and the genocide of Native American peoples.[103] This period also marked the Scientific Revolution, with great advances in mathematics, mechanics, astronomy and physiology
The late modern period (1800–present) saw the Technological and Industrial Revolution bring such discoveries as imaging technology, major innovations in transport and energy development.[105] The United States of America underwent great change, going from a small group of colonies to one of the global superpowers.[106] The Napoleonic Wars raged through Europe in the early 1800s,[107] Spain lost most of its colonies in the New World,[108] while Europeans continued expansion into Africa – where European control went from 10% to almost 90% in less than 50 years[109] – and Oceania.[110] A tenuous balance of power among European nations collapsed in 1914 with the outbreak of the First World War, one of the deadliest conflicts in history.[111] In the 1930s, a worldwide economic crisis led to the rise of authoritarian regimes and a Second World War, involving almost all of the world's countries.[112] Following its conclusion in 1945, the Cold War between the USSR and the United States saw a struggle for global influence, including a nuclear arms race and a space race.[113][114] The current Information Age sees the world becoming increasingly globalized and interconnected.
Human arts can take many forms including visual, literary and performing. Visual art can range from paintings and sculptures to film, interaction design and architecture.[352] Literary arts can include prose, poetry and dramas; while the performing arts generally involve theatre, music and dance.[353][354] Humans often combine the different forms (for example, music videos).[355] Other entities that have been described as having artistic qualities include food preparation, video games and medicine.[356][357][358] As well as providing entertainment and transferring knowledge, the arts are also used for political purposes.
Stone tools were used by proto-humans at least 2.5 million years ago.[375] The use and manufacture of tools has been put forward as the ability that defines humans more than anything else[376] and has historically been seen as an important evolutionary step.[377] The technology became much more sophisticated about 1.8 million years ago,[376] with the controlled use of fire beginning around 1 million years ago.[378][379] The wheel and wheeled vehicles appeared simultaneously in several regions some time in the fourth millennium BC.[61] The development of more complex tools and technologies allowed land to be cultivated and animals to be domesticated, thus proving essential in the development of agriculture – what is known as the Neolithic Revolution.

First Animal species of the day (175) :
Laughing kookaburra / (Dacelo novaeguineae)
The laughing kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) is a bird in the kingfisher subfamily Halcyoninae. It is a large robust kingfisher with a whitish head and a brown eye-stripe.[2] The upperparts are mostly dark brown but there is a mottled light-blue patch on the wing coverts.[3][2] The underparts are cream-white and the tail is barred with rufous and black.[2] The plumage of the male and female birds is similar. The territorial call is a distinctive laugh that is often delivered by several birds at the same time, and is widely used as a stock sound effect in situations that involve a jungle setting
Range :
The laughing kookaburra is native to eastern mainland Australia, but has also been introduced to parts of New Zealand, Tasmania, and Western Australia.[5] It occupies dry eucalypt forest, woodland, city parks and gardens.[5] This species is sedentary and occupies the same territory throughout the year. It is monogamous, retaining the same partner for life. A breeding pair can be accompanied by up to five fully grown non-breeding offspring from previous years that help the parents defend their territory and raise their young.[5] The laughing kookaburra generally breeds in unlined tree holes or in excavated holes in arboreal termite nests.[5] The usual clutch is three white eggs. The parents and the helpers incubate the eggs and feed the chicks. The youngest of the three nestlings or chicks is often killed by the older siblings. When the chicks fledge they continue to be fed by the group for six to ten weeks until they are able to forage independently.
predator of a wide variety of small animals, the laughing kookaburra typically waits perched on a branch until it sees an animal on the ground and then flies down and pounces on its prey.[3] Its diet includes lizards, insects, worms, snakes, mice and it is known to take goldfish out of garden ponds.
The laughing kookaburra is the largest species of kingfisher, outsizing even the giant kingfisher in body mass.[6][29] It is a stout, stocky bird 41–47 cm (16–19 in) in length, with a large head, prominent brown eyes, and a long and robust bill.[2] The sexes are very similar, although the female is usually larger and has less blue to the rump than the male. The male weighs 196–450 g (6.9–15.9 oz), mean 307 g (10.8 oz) and the female 190–465 g (6.7–16.4 oz), mean 352 g (12.4 oz).[30] They have a white or cream-coloured body and head with a dark brown stripe across each eye and more faintly over the top of the head. The wings and back are brown with sky blue spots on the shoulders. The tail is rusty reddish-orange with dark brown bars and white tips on the feathers. The heavy bill is black on top and bone-coloured on the bottom. The subspecies D. n. minor has a similar plumage to the nominate but is smaller in size.
The name "laughing kookaburra" refers to the bird's "laugh", which it uses to establish territory among family groups. It can be heard at any time of day, but most frequently at dawn and dusk.
During mating season, the laughing kookaburra reputedly indulges in behaviour similar to that of a wattlebird. The female adopts a begging posture and vocalises like a young bird. The male then offers her his current catch accompanied with an "oo oo oo" sound. However, some observers maintain that the opposite happens – the female approaches the male with her current catch and offers it to him. Nest-building may start in August with a peak of egg-laying from September to November.[5] If the first clutch fails, they will continue breeding into the summer months.
The female generally lays a clutch of three semi-glossy, white, rounded eggs, measuring 36 mm × 45 mm (1.4 in × 1.8 in), at about two-day intervals.[3] Both parents and auxiliaries incubate the eggs for 24–26 days.[5] Hatchlings are altricial and nidicolous, fledging by day 32–40.[5] If the food supply is not adequate, the third egg will be smaller and the third chick will also be smaller and at a disadvantage relative to its larger siblings. Chicks have a hook on the upper mandible, which disappears by the time of fledging. If the food supply to the chicks is not adequate, the chicks will quarrel, with the hook being used as a weapon. The smallest chick may even be killed by its larger siblings.[5] If food is plentiful, the parent birds spend more time brooding the chicks, so the chicks are not able to fight.
