basically what i'm trying to do is see if it's possible to have a non humanoid or dinosaur avatar in a VR game like Neos, because it's so strict on avatars having a humanoid skeleton, it ends up breaking the spine of every non-humanoid creature I try to put in it... but the way I made the skeleton this time, I was able to make Dryo's actual spine copy the rotation of the human spine in a way where its spine won't break. Downside is the avatar is forever "third person" lol. But it's doable as long as the game allows bone constraints to be made... the things above were failed attempts lol

In Neos VR those are your "toolshelves" which are attached to your vr hands. You can attach tools to them while you're working on stuff. In desktop(non vr) mode your hands are just at your sides... i didnt add hands to this dryo cause, well they're too smol lol

Because the chart is now complete, naturally I combined it with The Isle's roster chart from Doctor Nova

Most of these guys would fit in the first 2 tiers, only the Wumpo and Daydreamer are big enough to place above Ava reasonably

Wumpos are lighter than any of the animals in its size range, but a strong kick and what is likely a very good sprint speed and stamina could make this work

If they ever met, I'm fairly convinced Daydreamers would quickly overtake Deinosuchus' role as riverine apex

they are slightly shorter, but roughly as massive, and far more aquatically inclined than Deino is

Chatterravens could function thanks to tool use, but would otherwise be literally Pterodactylus 2

Gravediggers and Woodcrafters are in an awkward spot. They are semiaquatic, but still reliant on the carefully controlled ecosystem of the late ultimocene to survive in their current forms. The gravediggers are still capable diggers, and a semiaquatic omnivorous burrowing animal stands a decent chance at hiding out and avoiding most threats, basically tiny Beipi but can burrow

The woodcrafters can't burrow, are larger, and obligate herbivores. This puts them directly into competition with Minmi, and while they can still gallop quite well, there's no way they're outrunning the many predators they'd run into

The reapers are Pteranodon 2, moving on

Just like how the woodcrafters would be outcompeted by Minmi in the niche for Semiaquatic Herbivore, Greenskeepers would easily monopolize the niches for aquatic grazers, being far larger and undoubtedly more swift than Minmi could ever hope to be. Sheer size would allow them to outcompete Beipi where they overlap

of course, none of these guys would realistically be left on their own to face the island should they find themselves in this situation, cooperation between species and tool use would allow them to even dominate Tyrannosaurs if they can survive to that point. Tho they have no real answers to the strains and the presence of mercenaries

I feel like it depends on if a daydreamer could survive the sudden burst of damage a deino could do but, taking note of its robust form it seems like it very well could but at the same time I don't think it would be able to breach the deinos armor to well. I feel they would be very evenly matched.

I should make another video of this VR experiment showing the bones because its a really weird setup

the VR game only really allows humanoid skeletons so trying to make a dinosaur work on that it would just snap it's spine (like the original attempt lol)

so I had to merge both the human and dinosaur skeletons into one

dinosaur and human share the legs, the human skeleton is what is being used in VR and the dinosaur skeleton is being driven by movements it gets from the human skeleton, in this case I made the Dryo's body follow the movements of my hand lol

the skeleton ends up looking like this 😂

almost looks like a giant antenna with arms

basically i'm tricking the game with the human part of the skeleton and then i'm using bone constraints on the dino

nothing is rigged to the human skeleton so you just see the dino lol

my real hands are the human hands

cause seriously, you will NOT be able to pick anything up in VR with those nub dino arms

let alone even see your hands

I made King from the Owl House and his head was so big I couldn't see my arms 😆
