Not necessarily, more so the fact that deino is a self defeating playable. If you think its likely that a deino is in a body of water, the counterplay is to just not interact with that water. Deino has 0 way to actually force an engagement because it is entirely reliant on other playables to give it the opportunity. Plus, if, say, a newer player drinks from a water source and gets deino'd, chances are they are not going to drink from that spot ever again.

It could be made in a fair way, where people can take risks of drinking on a deino filled with places, but has the capability of actually doing something if the player reacts fast enough, which as of right now, theres nothing really besides if you have something like extra second or two to fully turn to the side and run, or you can actually jump, but midtiers cannot really do such.

A fair thing would for example be a backwards dodge, like you press a button quick enough, and it makes you run shortly backwards, and depletes some chunk of stamina.

I wouldn't say so really. There's only so much water, and not all of it is in a conveniently accessible place. Plus, almost all of it is within swimming distance of deino spawn. You can only do so much water avoiding, save for select few locations where a longer platform of foot-high water lets you drink mostly safely

I think much of the issue for deino not getting much food is mostly hunger drain and stomach capacity being too big. Even a pachy or dilo would be fair and good enough for a FG deinosuchus to have its stomach full, not a diablo.

There's plenty of water that is more or less safe from deinos, either being shallow enough that they can't live there or far enough away or isolated enough that they are shooting themselves in the foot for trying. Last time I got deino'd was because I made a series of bad mistakes and had to drink from highlands lake, and that was months ago

Yea. I know this was said many times before, but the way the eldering system is balanced is pretty confusing. You have two playables of the same weight at 75% growth, and when they reach 100%, one weighs slightly more and is slow asf, whilst the other is barely any slower and far heavier (talking tenontosaurus and ceratosaurus).

The eldering system expects you to entomb in the end of your life, so you are far slower and weaker. But in many cases, it doesnt really make sense. Look at prime elder deinosuchus for example, which is just an overall far more op deino in every single way, better speed, better bite, better hp, etc etc. Then you have a herrerasaurus, which has to live off of hopes and wishes whenever it pounces its prey, because its slower than a tenonto, cera, and such at full prime.

Dilo was originally described as being more mind warping with the venom having a bit of extra oompg to facilitate in hunts. But it seems like in-game, its venom is entirely "you die now" in a very boring and unengaging way...for both sides. Victim has to deal with buggy clones they can barely (if at all) hit, the Dilo itself doesn't have to to squat...just sit back and right click now and then.
